Its rare that I am in this area, but needed to get some sides for dinner, so stopped by here as it was the closest place offering what Iam looking for. I ordered the mashed potatoes, corn, and scalloped potatoes for take out from the bar area. I liked that there was a seat at the bar too wait at and also have a cocktail. The bartender was nice and busy the whole time making cocktails. It did take a bit longer than I thought to get the food, but I made the most of it by relaxing at the bar area. The sides were good and I did like that they included some of their garlic bread, which is one of my favorites.

Hubby and I had our Valentines Day date night here. We requested a both but where they sat us was better. It was a window seat and quiet very romantic. Our server, Daniel, was amazing. He made suggestions that made the dinner exquisite and delicious. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The whole staff was amazing. I dont think there is enough room for me to explain the food quality. Just know its all worth it. I do suggest making a reservation. Thank you Daniel and El Gaucho for making our evening purfect. We will be back.

If you are looking for “fancy” but not “snobby” I would highly recommend El Gaucho. The atmosphere is lively (and loud if the restaurant is full) with a good vibe and while the servers are all in tuxes, it doesn’t feel overly stuffy.

To start off our meal, my husband and I each ordered a mocktail and our server brought us complimentary garlic bread which was scrumptious. We shared the beet salad as an appetizer (DELICIOUS) and they split the salad into two separate plates for us; a nice touch. We ordered two different steak dishes – I got the New York strip and it was meh, but I highly recommend the chimichurri for a little “extra”. My husband got the Filet Medallions Oscar topped with Dungeness crab and it was outstanding. We also ordered the Dungeness crab Mac and cheese and I loved it.

Throughout the bustling dinner service, servers and coming and going with various carts in order to prepare certain menu items table-side. We did not partake of any of those dishes, but the service adds to the experience and the Bananas Foster with the fiery flame was quite the spectacle while also looking quite delicious. Our dinner was capped with a yummy fresh fruit, nut and cheese plate, which we found to be a nice touch.

While we did not go wild (we did not order alcohol nor dessert), we enjoyed a great meal and for a special date night we felt the $305 check (which automatically includes a 20% gratuity) was a fair price, however I will say that our ticket would be considered on the “low end” for this restaurant.

From our first appetizers it was clear that every bite after would be divine. The steak was cooked to perfection: tender, flavorful and seasoned so well it honestly didn’t need a thing. I actually finished my steak which is saying something as my husband usually get the last bites. The experience was so good that we already have our next reservations to go back set. If you’re looking for a unforgettable meal packed with flavor and quality this is a must eat place.

Food + atmosphere 5/5 but unfortunately service is 1/5 thus overall experience 2/5

I made a reservation to celebrate my fiancée’s birthday. Checking in was no problem however we waited half an hour before our table was ready. There were other parties (mixture of 2s and 4s) that came in after us but they got seated in right away. When I asked how come the other guest were seated while we had to wait, the hostess replied that they have a reservation. Okay? So did I, that made no sense. Once we got seated, our server was nice at first but took ages to take our order. She first asked if we wanted some drinks, we decline told her we are ready to order and she replied “okay give me a sec” grabs the drink menu and never came back until 15 minutes while she waited other tables in her area. There was another server that checked in on us and made sure we got our bread refilled. Once we placed the order, the appetizer and soup came in quick however our mains took over 45 minutes to come since we opted for the table side. The food was great so I can’t complain on that. Near the end, when asked for the bill our server told us the restaurant charge an automatic 20% “service” fee in which she takes home 15% while the restaurant takes home 5%. There was also a pamphlet provided the reason of the service fee and stating tipping on top is “optional”. WILD. Never in my life have I seen a service fee and asking for a tip on top.

Overall food and atmo was great but if someone ask if I would recommend El Gaucho – probably not if service was so slow and the fact the restaurant charges a service fee then ask for a tip on top

They have life music and it usually starts around 6:00. This is one my favorite restaurants in the world. Today Scott Long was our waiter and he was excellent at attending to our every need. All the staff here was super friendly. I got the flaming sword and it was really cool watching them light it on fire. It tasted amazing as well. My husband got the ribeye steak I tried a bite and it was really good. But the flaming sword is better . We also ordered the wicked shrimp. Scott told us to use the sauce from the wicked shrimp and use it on the complimentary cheesy garlic bread. It was fantastic together. The garlic bread alone is wonderful but that just pumped it up another notch. The shrimps are delicious as well. We also had a little platter of crackers, apples, jam, cheese, and honey that was absolutely delectable. Then Scott surprised me with a free purse holder. All around a wonderful experience.

The Steak Diane for 2 was delicious. We also tried the escargot and I really enjoyed it. The server made a great suggestion for wine and we shared several delicious desserts with our whole table, bananas foster and key lime pie were probably my favorite, the Creme Brule was good but a little small and not exceptional.
