Our server, Todd, was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. He did also help with the proposal, making the night extra special. Our steaks were cooked perfectly with a great crust, and the truffle butter was delicious, just rich so use sparingly.
Between the amazing food, the live pianist, and the ambiance, it was an unforgettable experience. This restaurant will forever be so special to us.
I used to love the charm and food of el gaucho so much.
This past experience was very disappointing. My steak was under medium rare and fleshy but i was hungry and didn’t want to wait so i just ate it. I figured when i heat up the left overs the next at least it won’t be over.
Appetizers:
-Brussel sprouts were not good
-Table side Caesar salad (minimum 2 person order) was the best thing. Really good croutons but they didn’t make it with anchovies
-duck fat fries with truffle aioli pretty good
-table side baked potato- wack! they asked i wanted everything on it. “Yes” apparently everything is just green onions and butter. They scoop the potato our and separate the skin so it still has that shape. Stir/mash the potatoes until it’s basically mashed potatoes in a potato skin. The cold stone the butter and green onion into it. The only teo toppings you cna have are butter and green onions. Just save yourself and get the baked potato at Wendy’s on the way home. At least you can get “everything” on it.
I had the baseball cut sirloin that was very under. Better the next day when i recooked it.
(Not pictured) Wagyu was 4 thinly slices pieces on the plate.
-Peppercorn new york was too saucy, if you get it i recommend getting the sauce on the side.
We got seated in the back room maybe because we were not dressed up as we just came from the aquarium. We could not hear the piano at all and the back room sucks for ambiance.
Our server was good.
Also we called to see if they could accommodate an extra person for our table which they couldn’t, however while we were seated there the table next to us asked the same thing and they were accommodated right away.
Overall i miss the old world charm of the old place. It was a big reason to go and it was like walking into a time capsule.
The new spot just feels like a generic chain restaurant.
For 3 adults the tab was $600 with drinks
It will be awhile until i come back here. The best thing i ate was the caesar salad. The croutons made it shine.
My favorite steak house is the Met and that still holds true.
Highly recommended!
For appetizers, we ordered the seafood tower, scallops, which were both fresh, generous, and beautifully presented, along with the classic tableside Caesar salad. The Caesar was exceptional! perfectly seasoned and prepared with that signature El Gaucho flair. Every appetizer we had was delicious, and I can honestly say there wasn’t a single dish that fell short.
For mains, we each chose our own steaks. I had the New York strip, which was cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. The standout of the night, though, was the A5 Wagyu that one of us ordered. It truly melted in your mouth – easily one of the best bites of steak I’ve ever had.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the tableside Bananas Foster, and it did not disappoint. Watching it being prepared was a delight, and the flavor was even better. I definitely finished mine and then helped with someone else’s.
We enjoyed some excellent wine as well; the sommelier was gracious, knowledgeable, and helped us pick selections that paired beautifully with the meal. Service overall was impeccable – from the sommelier to our server to the staff preparing tableside dishes, everyone was warm, attentive, and clearly committed to giving us a great experience.
The ambience was classic and elegant, with live piano music adding to the atmosphere. It was a bit loud since we were seated right next to the piano, but the music was beautiful and added to the celebratory energy of the night. There was also a small wedding reception happening nearby, which made the whole space feel even more festive.
Overall, everything we ordered tasted amazing, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere made the evening feel truly special. I would absolutely give El Gaucho Seattle five stars and highly recommend it for celebrations, date nights, or any time you want a truly exceptional steakhouse experience.
The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in, to our last pics before leaving. If you’re looking for an unrivaled dining experience, look no further. Thank you to the entire staff for an unbelievable experience and to our new friends for sharing our anniversary with us.
Highly recommend this place
