Unfortunately, this was one of the worst Mexican food experiences I’ve had, especially for the price. We spent about $50 and ended up throwing most of it away.
The chips were half filled in the bag and stale. The Gordo burrito had a strange, mushy texture. It honestly tasted like everything was microwaved. There was little to no seasoning on anything. The rice was extremely dry and hard to eat.
We ordered the buy one get one asada fries, and luckily the second had more meat, but both tasted like reheated fries with no flavor. Very disappointing.
We kept hoping it would get better after a few bites, but it didn’t.
I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but when it’s this bad, I feel like I have to be honest. When I can make better food at home, that’s a problem. Not sure if this is just how DoorDash orders are handled or if it’s always like this, but I won’t be ordering again.

Visited El Gallo Giro in Boise for tacos, carne asada, and a burrito with rice and beans. The food tasted good—well‑prepared, classic Mexican dishes with the familiar flavors you expect. Chips and salsa were fresh and enjoyable. Service was great; everyone was very friendly, and our food came out with no wait at all. Overall, a solid spot for straightforward, well‑made Mexican food with excellent service.

I absolutely love it here! I try and support them by dining in once a week! The food is great and it’s hard to order anything but the tacos birria, they are DELICIOUS!! Good-sized margaritas and happy hour prices as well. Family owned and operated, everyone is lovely, thanks for all you provide to the community!

this place was horrible iv been too alot of places to eat ,but this was the worst ever experience iv ever had.im not one to complain about service but it was not worth my time.
so I arrived here to try it out iv never ate here an heard its pretty good.i wasn’t very hungry so I thought I would try some rice an beans.the waiter came by took my order an gave me a basket of chips an salsa an small cup of beans so far so good. I wanted to sample the green chili verdy to see if it was up too my liking.he gave a small sample an i tried it an I passed on it.it wasn’t bad or anything just didn’t appeal to me at the time.
so I went with the rice an beans just perfect for my mood not too much but just enough. just to let you know the bean needed salt alot of salt they were very bland.the salt shaker wouldn’t not put out any salt it was plugged up so I tried to take the cap off an couldn’t so I shook the Shaker till my arm hurt like over 5 minutes to barely get any salt, but anyway.i asked the waiter when he came by how much was the rice an beans he said $4.00.i said ok great.i ate an doing a few things on my phone a seen a cockroach crawl across the other seat across from me an disappeared into the seat it was time for me to go I feal sick to my stomach got to go.i went up to the counter to pay an he said it will be $6.36.i asked him you said the rice an bean were $4.00.he said yeah but we charged you for the chips too $2.00 sense you didn’t order menu plate.you only ordered rice an beans he said it right here on our menu in fine print.
omg seriously iv never heard of such rules i did order food its not like I went in there to just eat chips an salsa.
Just telling everyone to be aware this place is not what they protruding to be
they aren’t very professional in their business at all.the waiter got rude with me at the very end when I told him I wouldn’t be back again an I wouldn’t give this restaurant a good review.
the next thing these types of restaurants
will do next is start charging people to walk through their doors, use of restrooms, glass of water, complimentary chips to set the mood for your meal.whats next with these places,if you want good Mexican food that dont charge you for everything then go to jalapeños bar an grill the best place in Mexican food by far.iv tried over 30 Mexican food joints here in the bosie,Caldwell, nampa, eagle, meridian areas this place just out right sucks.
for good quality Mexican food try jalapeños bar and grill you won’t be disappointed that’s a promise.
note: I thought if you ordered off the menu chips an salsa is supposed to be completely free.i never asked for chips or ordered chips they were given to me for visiting the restaurant to eat with my meal.i get it some people just eat chips an salsa an dont order anything I didn’t do that I order food an had a meal.too get complimentary chips you have to spend a minimal of $10.00 for a plate of food.
if this is how they run their business they shouldn’t give any chips to anyone until they order their food instead they surprise their customers with an extra charge when paying your bill when you leave.i think this is unfair to any customer an should be aware of any extra charges before they order any food.i know its only a few bucks but its the printable of the matter not the money, what a shady place to eat.i dont see the company being in business much longer.
I know you said your willing to give a refund but its ok im done with this.ill just be clear I dont want to interact with this company at all thanks but no thanks im not looking for free food I was looking for a good to spot for good Mexican food on the bosie bench.but I was treated very poorly an was over charged an was treated like I was just some cheap customer that had no value. I just wanted to let you know I try lots of restaurants an try new food all the time an I give good review all the time.

Food was made exactly as ordered, it came out hot and was very good! The staff is attentive and friendly. Be sure to get a few fried Jalapenos on the side and checkout their happy hour!

Food was very good but service was so slow. I think they were short staffed. Chips and Salsa were just ok. They totally got our order wrong after already waiting over 25 mins. They quickly remade our order, but still there for over an hour. I would go back because the food was really good, but hopefully they have better service.

I got pollo a la crema and it was by far the worst I have ever had. There were frozen carrots, broccoli, and just a ginormous chunk of cauliflower? The chicken was overcooked, the rice was incredibly bland, the beans watery and flavorless. We used to love coming here all the time but after this experience I don’t believe I will ever return. It’s been going downhill for so long but I didn’t want to believe it! Horrific meal, incredibly disappointing. And it was expensive! For frozen veggies and overcooked chicken! Yuck!!!

Have eaten here a few times. It’s in the top 10 we have tried for the Boise area only. Their price point is also very reasonable. Their service has always been good as well. I enjoy the colorful decor and the outside of this establishment.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. Today for lunch I had the taco salad with ground beef. Wasn’t my favorite dish I have had as the texture and flavor weren’t what I had hoped for. I will get rhe Olivia salad next time. Maybe it was an off day.
