Wow! What a great first visit, especially for a late night drive through. To be honest, was a bit skeptical because of the mixed reviews but what we ordered was great. Combination of carne asada street tacos and quesabirria – all fantastic. For a late night, everything tasted fresh. The meat was tasty, mild green salsa was flavorful and the spicy red salsa had just the right amount of spice. Prices were reasonable too! Great first impression and is probably one of the better options in the area. Definitely one of our go to spots now!
Update: went again during dinner time and arrived to a packed restaurant inside and drive through line. The drive through line does not move fast, but is still faster/convenient than parking to go in for an order (at least it was for us). Just sharing, know to possibly expect to wait longer than fast food drive through lines. Worth the made to order fresh food! Still recommend!

Was very excited to try this place, the wait at the drive through was very long & I was the only car in the line for some time till a car pulled up behind me. They asked me my order after a few minutes because of how long it took I think they forgot then when I said they still needed to give me my drink they tried to charge me for it when I already paid. I had to clarify I paid then they looked it up and made me wait even longer while checking. I do believe at this point after I have spent 15 minutes waiting for my order you can afford to just give me my drink on good faith. Anyways food was overall pretty good, I got rolled tacos & 2 fish tacos for my son. I do like the way they dressed the fish tacos and my son said they were pretty good. Will come back and try other food again…Hopefully a better experience the 2nd time around. Hate to give a bad review to a new business but they definitely got to work on customer service and wait time. Sauces given to me also broke inside bag, luckily they bagged them.

My first time eating El Forastero, my thoughts are the food Is ok, needs a few improvements. I ordered two carne asada tacos and one chicken tamale. I thought the tacos were alright just needs more seasoning to the meat, add sauce to it with a jalapeno on the side would really help. The Tamale taste fine, a little dry and greasy though. I waited about 17 minutes for my order on a busy sunday. Inside the restuarant Is a little dirty at the salsa bar and some tables not wiped clean. A few things to Improve on but I will still be back to try more food.

Got takeout. Food came out fairly quickly, chip and salsa was a nice addition. We ordered the 2 tamales dish, a California burrito, and a beef burrito. Food tasted great, I’m no Mexican food connoisseur, but I really enjoyed the tamales. I will definitely be back because I want to try the other items on their menu. Happy to have a new Mexican restaurant in the area!

Not great but I suppose better than the Wendy’s it replaced. Was hoping to find a new Mexican taqueria in San Ramon, but this is not it. Rice and beans are hilariously bad. Tacos were ok. Can’t remember the last time I had yellow corn tortillas at a good taqueria… Plenty bland flavor all around. Salsa bar is small and didn’t add anything to the tacos. Ingredients seemed fresh otherwise, but I will keep going to Dublin and Los Pericos for amazing Mexican food

Very affordable and seems to be high quality. Sort of a slow drive-through but it’s worth it. This has become a favorite restaurant that I regularly go to.
