El Fenix Bakery is still by far one of my favorite local bakeries. Very nice and comfortable bakery with limited seating but still sufficient, keeping a cozy atmosphere. The ladies waiting on customers are kind and work diligently to complete your order. There are traditional pastries such as bread pudding, flan, rice pudding and more, all are very well prepared. The “pan con mantequilla” (bread with butter) is also very nice to have with a cup of coffee “cafe con leche”.

It is a very busy location so don’t expect to park your car out front, you may need to park in the neighboring side streets. But if you’re a pedestrian, do pay a visit.

This is one of the few Cuban bakeries left in town. They make fresh Cuban bread everyday. They have great breakfast egg sandwiches, pastelillos, croquetas. The media Noche which is one of my favorite it’s like the Cuban Sandwich made with a semi-sweet bread.
Definitely recommend it, best Cuban Expresó.

I don’t know what happened but El Fenix has changed their recipe for croquetas and they now have a strange flavor. In my book they went form the best in Hudson county to the bottom of the list.

Today I went there for the first time from Pennsylvania and had some of their amazing pastries, the freshness and the quality of their food is impeccable! The service was amazing and the owner Adis came to us as she was the sweetest and warmest person I’ve ever met. The attention she gave us made me feel welcomed.

This place is simple yet so amazing. They just have really delicious, flavorful food. I barely ever leave reviews for anything, but I felt compelled to for this place. The woman/women that work in the morning are so sweet and helpful and fast too! I love the chicken empanadas and their guava and cheese empanada..the round one. They have delicious egg and spinach croissants too. Everything is really good.

Whenever I work in this area I make it a point to stop in and treat myself. Also, they open at 5AM!! ☀️

Come here and enjoy

Stopped in, after hearing my coworkers raving about the hot chocolate and ALL of the bakery items.
The place is really nice and modern. The staff were very nice, professional and personable.
My coworker treated me to Papas Rellenas, empenadas, pudin de pan and more. Everything was delicious. I’ll be going back soon to try a sandwich and more.
2/1/24- Still stopping in at least twice per week. I’ve tried the Cuban Sandwich. It’s probably one of the best that I’ve had so far. The cheesecake, flan and bread pudding are a treat.

Great Cuban style bakery and sandwiches. Ordered a made to order cake from Orlando for Mom’s birthday. It was delicious. Definitely recommend. Pastries are also really good.

The food is disappointing in every way. The location and the name alludes to a delicious Cuban bakery but some of the staple Cuban items are just subpar. The croqueta is all breading and no ham. Dry and awful.
