This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Service was outstanding, our waiter was so attentive to everything we needed, made sure our drinks where refilled. Chips where fresh and very tasty, right amount of salt. Salsa was excellent as we are definitely picky about our salsa. My son and myself shared the El Jefe Dinner and it came on two plates. My favorite of the dish was the tamale it was great with the tomato sauce was excellent. The Fish taco’s my daughter got she said were her favorite the fish was great tasting, seasoned wonderfully she said she will order again. Husband ate the Beef Taco’s but did throw in a chicken one and he said they were great tasting. Great Atmosphere, Great service and the food was excellent. We will be going back again.

I got an old standard beef fajita nachos and tortilla soup. I haven’t eaten at an El Fenix in years but it’s exactly as I remember which is what I wanted. The tortilla soup by default does not have chicken, witch in my opinion is perfect.

Pretty quick service considering the amount of people that were there on a Friday night. Food as always was amazing. My step daughter and I had a great time and the churros with ice cream and soppapilla is a must have!

El Fenix has been a favorite of my family and I for as far back as I can remember. Most of the time, we go to the location in downtown Dallas. But we would occasionally go to different locations. It was my Granny’s favorite restaurant. So whenever we go, it always gives me memories of her no matter which location. Even though we always pass the Greenville location, we have never actually been inside and eaten. We tried one time and it was so busy, we didn’t have time to wait. But this time my wife and I decided to stop by and grab a bite. We actually had that rare occasion where we were both off of work on the same day. We decided to stop by and grab a bite for lunch. I ordered the classic chicken enchiladas and they were good. My wife, she ordered the tortilla soup with her rice on the side. She enjoyed it but couldn’t finish it. The food was good ( not great but good), the only thing I can really complain about was the service. The place was not crowded at all. But we rarely had a visit from our waitress to see if we need anything. Soda, hot sauce refill? So that was a negative for me. She dropped the ticket off and took for ever to come back. So long my wife got up and went and waited in the car. I can say that we will most likely return to El Fenix, but might think twice about this location. Maybe your experience will be different. Tortilla soup was exceptional, lots of chicken and avocado, just spicy enough for flavor. But the piece de resistance was our server Richard “Ty”. He even asked if we were right or left handed before putting the plates of food on the table. We’ve never had better service even at very expensive and ritzy restaurants. Attentive but not hovering, clean cut and remarkably courteous.

My wife ordered us dinner. We didn’t get all of our items, and let me tell you, if you’re after flavor, you’re better off chewing on a shoe. The only thing that was even close to good was the sopapilla. Definitely not worth the wait or money spent.

Came here on Friday, March 28, 2025. Ordered drinks from the bar, special was beer on tap, they were our of it, had only bottles. Ordered the margarita, barely any salt on rim, and it took almost 20 minutes to arrive, the lomes were completelydried out.
The chips were old tasting, the food was pretty good. They need to clean, though. There are layers of dust around the tables in the bar, kind of gross. I ended up getting sick later that evening from the “beef enchiladas”, won’t eat those again.

We have dined at the Greenville location off and on since they opened a few years ago and have dined there twice in the last week, yes, it was that good! The last two times have been awesome and a wonderful experience! The service was fantastic and the food was fresh, great quality and delicious. Ismael runs a clean and inviting location. The staff that waited on us were some of the nicest and tentative people at any restaurant we have ever dined at. Special shout out to Ismael for running a great location and to his staff Kellsie, Miguel, Emma and Cleme for a job very well done. We will definitely be back, soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!
