Stopped in for a quick bite to take out for lunch. I got chicken vegetable soup, beef empanadas and chicharron. It was 11am and a bit early for lunch but everything was so fresh. The soup felt like home. The chicharron was crispy, crunchy and had the perfect proportion of meat to fat. The empanadas were filled with shredded beef and potato and the dough had a nice chew to it but a slight crunch. Everything just hit the spot and I was really happy that I stopped in and tried them out. Will definitely stop in for a proper dinner meal next time.

My husband and I have been coming to El Familiar for years. It’s honestly one of our favorite places around for a few reasons. Firstly, the food speaks for itself. We’ve had a variety of dishes on their menu, none of which have ever disappointed. I absolutely LOVE the pork tinga burrito, the mountain platter, and the skirt steak special on the hot skillet. Their quac is so fresh and their salsa is the best I’ve ever had! We recently started including a juice con leche despues dinner as dessert. Don’t skip the juice!!! Not only is the food authentic, delicious, and very generous in portion size, Nicolas, the owner is just so kind. This establishment has friendly waitstaff and a cozy atmosphere with beautiful artwork and murals painted on the walls. El Familiar feels like la familia <3

After seeing so many reviews, we decided to try this place out. Didn’t meet our expectations as we thought. Service was slow, a few times they walked by us to the point the owner had to tell one of the servers to take our order. I saw some people get their food quickly however, so not sure what that was about. The food was pretty good, fresh, and the portions were large, enough for 2 meals! We loved the empanadas and fajitas. Overall we would return for some takeout.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for almost 20 years. The food is absolutely amazing, consistent every single time. The wait staff is on point and make you feel like you are part of the family Brenda is five star staff always welcome you with a huge smile the atmosphere is as comfortable as you can expect from any restaurant me and my wife try to go there at least once a month we live in the area but if we lived an hour away we would make it a point to go there at least once a month it’s an addiction

Absolutely LOVE this place!! Authentic as it gets. The owner Nicolas pours love into the food, the atmosphere, and his kindness to the community. The prices are so reasonable for everything you get. The flavors of every dish I have had are stellar!! Highly recommend.

30 years I’ve lived here and I’ve never eaten at this Mexican restaurant. I had the burrito today. It was huge flavorful lots of everything in it and a very reasonable and fair price. They have an excellent lunch menu and if you’ve never tried them, I highly recommend it. Service with a smile.

The food here is delicious and reasonably priced for what you get, and by that I mean they give you alot of food. I recommend going here with an empty stomach since its alot of food, plus they give you free chips and salsa upon arrival. Sadly they don’t sell alcohol which would have earned them a 5 star rating from me, but they do let you bring alcohol from outside. Either way, it’s a great family friendly restaurant with a big variety of menu options. I’ll be looking forward to eating here again next time I’m in town. As a matter of fact, I’ll give them 5 stars anyway cause the food is so good and their empanadas were excellent

LOVE LOVE LOVE this little family owned restaurant they were very busy and had customers come in almost the entire time while we were sitting down. That did not slow down their service one bit!! They were all friendly and the food came out at a good pace. Absolutely delicious and fresh. The price was right, their servings are large and you can’t beat the quality. It was our first time there and it won’t be our last!
