I decided to go with a Cadillac margarita, choosing my preferred tequila, and it did not disappoint. If you’re debating between the house margarita and the Cadillac, definitely go with the Cadillac. Yes, it costs a bit more, but it’s absolutely worth it—not just for the quality of ingredients but also for the larger glass size. It was smooth, well-balanced, and easily one of the best margaritas I’ve had in town.
The food was just as impressive—authentic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite had that homemade touch that makes a real difference. The combination of great food, excellent drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere made for a fantastic experience.
This spot is definitely a hidden gem when it comes to Mexican food in Anchorage. I’ll absolutely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a true taste of Mexico!
It took us a while to decide what to eat because everything looked delicious from chimichangas to burritos to enchiladas to the fajita plates. It was hard to make a decision.
We decided on the enchilada de mole and street tacos (birria, carne asada, and carnitas). First off, I’ve never really cared for rice and beans but we both agreed that this was the best rice and beans we had ever had. I’d go back just for that. The mole sauce was amazing. The carnitas and carne asada were on point but the birria was just okay. The raw onions were perfectly crunchy. I finished everything and I usually have leftovers.
For dessert we had the sopapillas with vanilla ice cream. They were delicious but had the consistency of churros in my opinion. They were not the puff balls that I was used to that we would drizzle with honey. Again, we still finished everything.
And of course, I had to try the house margarita. My friend thought it was a strong pour. As a former Burqueña, I think I’m just picky when it comes to margaritas. But again, all of it was consumed.
Overall, a delicious meal and an inviting place. Definitely coming back.
Finally got our correct order, but now hers had hardly any chicken and I never found any shrimp I’d seen on her plate.
We ordered margaritas. They weren’t bad drinks, but these could no more pass for a margarita as could apple juice. Then the SHOCK to see they charged $17.50 for the horrific drink. No discount for messing up our meals, only laid on compliments on our looks to keep her tip.
So after tip, I spent $51 on a mediocre seafood chimichanga and the worst margarita in my 57 year life. I would have gone back had they adjusted the price or not charged over $17 for the drink. I now will not return nor recommend them. At least the chips were good and the salsa spicy.
As horchata lovers, I don’t recommend their horchatas.
Chicken wings wasn’t fully cooked.
Also, the beef fajitas has too little meat, more than half of the dish were onions and bell pepper. FYI, we had many fajitas in other Mexican restaurants so we know.
The mole was really good though.
I love them so much and will be coming here for as long as I’m able! ❤️❤️❤️
