The best Colombian in London! Very tasty and satisfying.

Derly guided us through the menu like a real Pro and ensured we didn’t miss out!

I had high hopes for El Dorado, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from start to finish. The food was completely lacking in flavour – no seasoning, no depth, and certainly nothing memorable. For a place that should be bursting with vibrant tastes, everything came out bland and uninspired.

Even the presentation did little to save it – it felt more like reheated leftovers than freshly prepared dishes. Service was fine, but when the food is this dull, it doesn’t really matter. Definitely not worth the time or money, especially when there are so many better options nearby.

So this place is a big no no!

We had to get there when we ordered and it was placed as delivered. Now I understand is a deliveroo issue.

‘However’ We went to pick it up and they told us:

We threw your order away, can’t give that now, we’ll cook you something new – total lie, unless cooking something new means, dry, cold and soggy! Then you hit the spot! It was full of bones and dried fried plantain and not only that! The take away box was half full.

So what would one expect simple, empathy, good customer service and some type of retribution due to the food not being delivered, but what we got was totally the opposite. “£60 well spent”

If I could give it a zero start rating I would! EAT AND ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK YOU BEEN WARNED.

Initially, I enjoyed visiting El Dorado because of its beautiful and aesthetically pleasing interior, which sets it apart from other Colombian restaurants in London that do not prioritise this.

The food was tasty and authentic, but I have a bone to pick with the service. I was served by the same young waitress twice, who made me feel unwelcome, unsettled, and uncomfortable with her poor attitude and general rudeness. Service is a huge part of the dining experience, and while I would recommend the food, the service spoiled my last three visits. On one occasion, I had a particularly upsetting experience. I ordered sancocho de gallina, one of my favourite Colombian soups. However, I was served gallina with hairs still in it, and the soup was swimming in oil. When I raised this issue with the waitress, I was rudely confronted by the chef, who stormed out of the kitchen and approached me aggressively, insisting that this is how it is supposed to be served and was very argumentative about it. Despite being Colombian and a chef myself, she was Portuguese and claimed to know how Colombian food should be served. To make matters worse the restaurant was full and it was a deeply embarrassing experience, one that no customer should ever be subjected to.

On my last visit, I ordered arepa de chocolo, one of my favourite appetisers. However, what I received was a bowl of corn swimming in cheese and an excessive amount of melted butter. I asked the waitress if she could resolve this issue and provide me with what I wanted, but she refused and made me pay for it, despite me not eating any of it and not offering to replace it with another dish from the menu.

Great place behind Seven Sisters station.

The cocktails were unreal and we wish we could have tried them all! Our faves were red fruit mojito and passion fruit sour (10/10!!)

Prices are reasonable and the portions are BIG.

The whole venue can seat about 100 people (maybe more) so it’s a decent size with Spanish music and plenty of people eating good food.

I would 100% return and recommend. Thank you!!

The food tastes okay, and I didn’t realise all the food items would be mixed together in one bowl, like soup. Such as the beans, plaintain, pork, sausages, and everything, mixed together. I thought it would get presented as a traditional bandeja plate. The menu didn’t say it would come like this, so I was surprised. The service was fine. Overall quite pricey for this small portion.

The food was fantastic, and the portions were pretty large, which I think most people would appreciate. The cocktails were great too. The Cuban Grande might seem weak at first, but it’s actually perfectly balanced. The service was excellent. Our server was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed at the right times. I really enjoyed my visit!
