Visiting El Crítico in Orlando was a full on nostalgic experience, especially for anyone who knows what a true Barquisimeto style pepito is supposed to taste like. This place doesn’t just get it right, it absolutely nails it.

I ordered the gratinado pepito and honestly, I wasn’t ready for how good it was. The bread was perfectly toasted on the outside but still soft and warm on the inside, making every bite feel comforting and familiar. The meat was on another level. It was tender, juicy, and so flavorful that it melted in my mouth. You could tell it had been cooked with real care and attention to detail.

The melted cheese on top added just the right amount of richness without overwhelming the other ingredients. And the sauces were incredible. From the garlic to the pink sauce, each one had a distinct homemade taste that brought everything together perfectly. They weren’t thrown on just for show they actually elevated the whole thing.

Everything from the bread to the meat to the sauces was a solid ten out of ten. The portion size was generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the overall experience felt like eating something straight from a street vendor in Barquisimeto , only better.

This spot stands out not just for the quality of the food, but for how authentic it feels. It’s comforting, flavorful, and made with intention. I’ll definitely be coming back.

This is a lovely, delicious, and delightful place.

The food, firstly, is magnificent. If you don’t know what something is, ask and just trust the folks there if you don’t know what to get. It will be good.

I had the chance to visit El Critico and try one of their classic Venezuelan pepitos with chicken and steak, and it did not disappoint! The pepito was packed with flavor, and the combination of chicken and steak was delicious. It came with a side of fries, but the highlight for me was definitely the garlic sauce – it added such a burst of flavor to every bite. The service was top-notch as well. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend!

We went yesterday after getting out of our jobs, got there around 1:10am, We enter and there was an odor a little nasty, like when you smell something that has been sitting for a while in a cabinet, even though didn’t bother us at all, ordering our food was really simple and the cashier (a blonde girl) was very nice, total was $53.20 cause we also order a Malta (Drink)..

We waited around 15 – 20min for our order (I think was a little high the waiting time) there was only an order of a couple ahead of us, music was great, we’ll give you that.

When it comes to food, everything was good, except a little for the fries, Small portion and didn’t feel or taste really crunchy or fried at the moment, and both pepitos were good but, I think is a small portion of protein itself that the use for being a $21 pepito..

Real question will be if I would come back and get it? Probably not, feel that my money spend in food is worth more in other places, hope this review helps you decide, for trying is okay, that’s it.

I stumbled in to this location after a flat tire, and so glad I did! I had a pepito which I learned is an open faced sandwich and it was delicious. The kind gentleman made it fresh to order and explained a variety of sauces they have to go with it. You can tell this is place is truly authentic Venezuelan street food. I highly recommend giving it a try!

We ate here at night, the service was very good and the person who took your order was very friendly. I asked him if he could take my son’s food first because he was very hungry and secondly he did, thank you for that!! The food is very very good and the quality of the products is truly incredible. 100% recommended.

My wife and I were waiting for our car to be fixed and had the idea of visiting El Critico, and it was the best thing we did.
Food is great! They prepare it as soon as you order, it tastes really fresh.
They have some sauces and they are all great!

But what really sold the deal on this restaurant was Maria’s help, she is very knowledgeable about the menu and really friendly! Despite not liking the Durano tea, she still offered us to try it and we loved it!

Thanks for the help and delicious food 🙂
