Called at opening to inquire about reservations, the women took my name and number of people and assured me the tables would be ready for us at 6pm. The first guests in our party arrived and no one was aware of my calling in that morning. We were seated shortly after. The chips and salsa were delish! The pictures of margs were very good. The server could of been a little bit more friendly! Other than that, everything was very good.

Stopped in for lunch today. The place was clean, friendly, and fast service. I ordered the combination Mexicana and it came with a beef taco, a bean tostada, and a cheese enchilada. The chips tasted like they fried and fresh themselves. The enchilada had a wonderful red sauce. The bartender Was attentive and friendly. She made great suggestions and recommendations.

For starters, the chips were the BEST! The salsa though was too salty and runny. I prefer salsa to have some chunks of tomato and onion in it, this was more like salted tomato purée.
I ordered the nachos, what came out was a giant tostada, they said that’s how they make their nachos. Fine, but you can’t really call it nachos anymore then…. . They/it didn’t taste very good at all. The rice was bland as well. The service was polite and attentive. However, they write down that they charge 3.5% for card and take it off for cash. I paid cash and they didn’t remove the surcharge. Maybe just an oversight, but I adjusted the tip accordingly. My mom said she likes the tacos.
Overall, I’d say it’s a pass.

All of the food here is so good and it comes out so quickly! They have fantastic chips and salsa, but they’ve started charging for more than one basket of chips That is brought to your table and depending on who your server is, they don’t always tell you that you’re going to be charged for it. I’ve been going to this place for years because it’s relatively inexpensive compared to other restaurants and the food is so good. But if we have six people at a table I think it’s a little bit ridiculous that they would charge. If they give you more than one bowl of chips. Then you have waitresses that have been there forever and they’ll just give you as much as you want. They’ll even refill the bowl right before you leave so you can take it to go with fresh chips and extra salsa. So I would just make sure that you talk to your server before you find out the hard way that they charge for extra. Otherwise everything else is great. It’s a mid size restaurant with with plenty of seeding even on a weekend night. They also have a bar area where people sometimes eat if they have a wait, but I don’t know that I’ve ever had to wait more than 5 minutes there and even if it’s super busy, by the time I order my food, I think the maximum amount of time I’ve ever waited for the food to come to the table is like 10 minutes and that’s on a crazy busy day! I truly don’t know how they do it so fast but it’s good!! However, be warned about the salsa that depending on the day you go there, it could be very mild or very spicy! To me that’s just a sign that it’s homemade and it depends on who’s making it that day of how heavy-handed they are with the jalapenos. It’s also nice that they have a lunch menu has the same quantity of food for even cheaper.
Other notes: they have and extra room for parties that I’ve never seen open but I think they might open it on a weekend night. There is also some kind of small slot machine type game area over in that other room for adults obviously

The chips and salsa were good and that’s where it ends. Service slow and the waitress couldn’t be bothered. My girl got the quesadilla dinner and it was cold, hard, and looked like a Kraft single was slapped on there with no melty cheese. I got the puentillo dinner. Wasn’t given a plate lmao and then when I asked for salsa was told that costs extra like what extra for salsa at a Mexican restaurant what are we talking about here. I been to the one in blue island and crest hill too they were very good but this place is ️

Went on a Tuesday night after work and a pitcher of margaritas was like $12. Came with salsa and it was good. I got the shrimp tacos and my girlfriend got the al pastor enchiladas. Both was pretty delicious. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back again.

The entire wait staff could not have been friendlier to our entire family, including 2-year olds. While a cliche, we actually were treated like family. The food was delicious and reasonably priced too.

We stopped here for dinner last night and all of the food we ordered was delicious it was our first time here and John did a great job of explaining different meal ideas to us. We had wonderful service, one of the best. We will definitely be back and recommending to others

Stopped here for lunch today I would definitely not recommend this restaurant although I did enjoy the old Blue Island restaurant this one is much to be desired. Arrived 11:30 a.m. ordered lunch and appetizers they forgot the appetizers the food was cold and everything ran together. I we were kind of disappointed and the service was really so so seemed like they were more into their phone apps then customer service they provided! For this being a Mexican style restaurant the table settings we’re more like you were in a mess hall instead of a restaurant. Very disappointing again we’re not returning.
