First time eating here was a pretty good experience! We were seated very quick and got our chips and salsa fast as well. The employees are very kind and helpful. However, our orders took awhile to come out which I wasn’t that impressed by. I was, in fact, extremely pleased by the taste and quality of the food I ordered and I will definitely be returning and suggesting this place to others. I had a great experience!

Waitress was friendly and the food was okay at best. VERY SLOW service from the kitchen compared to other restaurants(Waited 25 minutes during lunch for 2 people) and food was warm. Very bland taste. Salsa is very tomato/ketchup tasting. Cheese dip had a scalded milk taste. Nice atmosphere though and decent parking. For taste and quality there are much better Mexican restaurants around.

Decided to try the new restaurant. Got a table quickly. Menu was very extensive with lots of choices. Salsa had a good flavor. A little on the weak side, and I a, NOT a fan of Spicey foods. It was very thin. Good, but not great; however it is winter and hard to get decent tomatoes. The food was very good. We ordered enchiladas with verde sauce and steak kabobs. The verde sauce was very good. It had zero heat, but a lot of flavor. The ground beef in the enchiladas was bland with little to no seasoning. The sauce made up for that. As for the kabobs, they were very good. Flame grilled and great flavor. We both really enjoyed the refried beans. They were great.

Can I give a negative 4 star rating…. From the greeting walking in that was actually decent that was the end of anything positive…. Ordered the kids cheese/chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, rice and beans were forgotten…. For my wife street tacos and a side, 2/3 tacos were wrong, the side and also the type of tortillas were wrong…. Then my dish, 4 chicken rolled tacos with tomatillo green sauce, these tortillas and also this trash chicken seemed from the lunch menu from yesterday, nothing else was in the taco but these 2 horrible ingredients, then some thick nasty ketchup sauce it seemed with only tomatoes and a tiny amount of the actual green tomatillo sauce, this waitress never asked if we were happy, ever asked to fix anything and all of these were issues…. DO NOT EAT HERE I WILL/DO SUGGEST

Loved the chips and salsa. All of the food was delicious (enchiladas rancheros and pollo loco) and the server was very friendly. Would definitely go back when in Ooltewah.

Great service, even during their slow hours. Burritos and Nachos were good. Bean and cheese dip was better than expected. Server was very attentive. Atmosphere was good and the music helped. There was so much food we needed to go boxes!

Nice restaurant. Had beautiful murals on the walls depicting an entire Mexican town. Quaint and homey. The 3 stars are given because a to go order took 20 minutes to prepare, and I only saw 2 other customers in there. Plus, all I ordered were tacos. Additionally the tacos were priced according to the meat inside. I ordered chicken, but was charged for steak. I questioned it and the lady said “you got grilled chicken, and that price is for shredded chicken.”
I protested and got the bill changed, but I thought that was a little under handed.
However, the food was so good that I’ll be back.

This restaurant used to be “El Matador.” It is much the same but improved. The salsa has improved, although I wish they’d put just a little more kick in it. The cheese enchiladas were filled with real cheese–not skimpy like so many other places.
The service was friendly, but it might take a minute to get seated during the slow time of day–I don’t think they expected me around 2:30.
I definitely will be back.
ALSO, I really like the ambience–the decor and such.
The portions are great, and I’m a big hungry guy. “Los Potros”, the local competitor, is not as good. They have smaller portions, terrible salsa, poor ambiance, but the local fire department seems to like them. (I believe it’s local politics).

Cheap place to eat for lunch… If you like food without seasoning… They need to season their queso dip, their rice, shrimp and marinate the chicken longer In more flavorful spices… I am not a fan of this place, this was the second time there and it reminded me of why I didn’t like it there the first time. Mexican restaurants need flavor in all food! If your looking for that kick of flavor, I’d pass on this place.
