Prices were very reasonable. Portions were big and the shrimp chimichanga was really good. $5 for a large pour beer was defientky worth it.
However there is an automatic gratuity so be prepared for that.

Our food was good, service was ok. We were seated quickly, and didn’t have much of a wait for our food.

Food was bland no taste to it and over salted. No music to set the atmosphere deathly quiet in restaurant. Received check and found we were charged 15% gratuity for parties of 1 or more. Waitress was polite and professional and when I asked about the gratuity she stated she didn’t know what that was. Plainly speaking if you want better Spanish or Mexican food, go to Taco Bell and skip this place. Very unsatisfying.

Ugh, where do I even begin with this disastrous experience at what I can only assume is a culinary black hole masquerading as a restaurant? We specifically ordered vegan dishes, and what arrived at our table? Beef. Actual, undeniably beef. It’s like they actively went out of their way to ignore our dietary restrictions, which isn’t just inconvenient, it’s frankly insulting.
And the service? Don’t even get me started. Our server seemed utterly disinterested in our existence, let alone our order. Getting their attention was an Olympic sport, and when we finally managed to point out the egregious error with our food, we were met with a shrug that could curdle milk. No apology, no urgency, just a blank stare.
To top it all off, the entire atmosphere felt dingy and unwelcoming. It’s hard to enjoy a meal (even if it were the correct one) when you feel like you’re dining in a poorly lit storage closet.
Honestly, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you have any dietary restrictions, or if you simply value being treated with a modicum of respect, steer clear of this place. You’d be better off eating a microwave dinner in the comfort of your own home. Zero stars just isn’t an option, unfortunately. Consider this a resounding thumbs down and a strong recommendation to take your money and your appetite elsewhere.

This place was wonderful. I was in Magnolia to see family and El Compadre was across the street from my hotel. I went in not expecting much, as restaurants seem to be nothing but a disappointment these days, but I was pleasantly surprised! We loved it so much we ate here both nights we were in town. The service was some of the best I’ve had in awhile. The portion sizes were very generous. Pricing was fair. I feel like most places these days barely give you what you pay for, but not here. We had chili rellenos, tacos, cheese dip, fajitas, rice, beans, etc. Also got some tacos to bring back to the hotel. It was all really wonderful. The service was extremely attentive. I have no desire to find another place to eat. Anytime I’m in Magnolia, this will be my place. I highly recommend you give them a try!

I had a very disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant. I ordered vegetarian burritos, but was shocked to find beef in them instead. When I brought it to their attention, the same person who was cooking and handling the front desk responded in an extremely rude and dismissive manner.
There was no apology or attempt to correct the mistake, and the attitude made the situation even worse. The lack of basic customer service and respect was unacceptable. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this place to anyone Despite the mistake, we were charged the full amount. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend.

The food was very good, and the prices were pleasantly low compared to most other similar restaurants.
The atmosphere was typical and pleasant.
Everyone was super friendly. However, the service was very slow, and we actually had to ask for refills on our tortilla chips and our drinks, which should never happen.

My visit to this restaurant was deeply disappointing. Despite clearly ordering vegan meals, we were inexplicably served beef—a mistake that goes beyond carelessness and shows a lack of respect for dietary preferences.
The service was equally frustrating. Server seemed uninterested and unresponsive, offering no apology or effort to correct the issue once it was brought to their attention.
The setting only added to the discomfort. The lighting was dim, and the overall environment felt cold and uninviting.
This was, without a doubt, one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you have specific dietary needs or simply expect basic courtesy and a pleasant atmosphere, I’d strongly advise avoiding this place.

We ordered vegetarian food but were served beef, which was deeply upsetting for those in our group who strictly avoid it. When we raised the issue, the server was dismissive and arrogant instead of apologetic. This lack of respect and attention to dietary needs is unacceptable. We expect better service and care when it comes to handling food and customer concerns.

We sat for 30 minutes before getting any service. We had to ask for silverware and straws for our drinks. It ended up being about an hour before we got our food, and we had to ask for an update on it. The food was bland. Nothing special.
