New owners are going to lose customers quickly. There were 2 of us and we were served a basket with 5 chips. The salsa tasted old and sour. The meat on tacos tasted old and was scarce. El Compadre had been a favorite of mine for years, it’s a small little place but the food is great and staff is fantastic. I usually get the California burrito which I really enjoy. I tried their special on this visit which was a burrito with beef, pork AND chicken, it was very good.

We got food here to take to a winery in Paso area. I got a tongue or lengua burrito and my husband got a special wet burrito but substituted the meat for their carnitas. The carnitas were some of the best he’s had in years. The salsas were good and my lengua burrito was great.

Well, first time we went there, really not impressed ,the salsa was bland, the guacamole was watery,and my taco salad bowl ,was more like a soup,with no flavoring..but the server was great.
