My wife and I got a late lunch here on January 10th. The service was great and the food was well-made with excellent portion sizes for the price. They seemingly have endless chips and salsa. She ordered the Texas-Style Quesadilla and I got the Taco Salad. The food was cooked to perfection and the portions were massive. We both had our fill and had to get boxes for leftovers. Between the great service, the excellent food, and the value for the portions, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We found El Compadre on Google while visiting from out of town. They had good reviews and the reviews were correct!
The food was great. We had the chimichangas and …. so good.
The cheese dip was great and the place was clean.
Would have been 5 stars if the service had been better.
The service started out great and then our server just disappeared. I waited for a long while for a refill on my tea, another table got tired of waiting and went to get more chips themselves. They came back with chips and said our waited was in the front visiting with someone. Not good.
But the food was so good, I’m gonna just hope this was an isolated incident and go with 4 stars.

I hate to give a bad review to a local business, but this was the worst dinner we’ve had in years. My food was burnt. Wife’s was flavorless.
No saucers with the chips & watery salsa & queso (tasty at least) but the watery dip in the middle of the table and trying to not get it everywhere…
I tried each item of my seafood sampler and it didn’t just look overcooked, it was (see pic). I ate enough of the burnt fries to get full, plus what I tried of the other burnt food (catfish, lobster taquitos, popcorn shrimp, coconut shrimp & seafood nachos). Couldn’t even stand more than 1 coconut shrimp, that’s bad. The 2 sauces were really good at least, to try and cover up the burnt flavor.
Wife’s rice, beans, & quesadilla were flavorless and she didn’t even try her taco. I usually clean my plate & the picture shows what I left. Doggy bag? No thank you.
We were never asked how everything was, so we didn’t comment there – wasn’t trying to get anything comped or seem like it, but it was bad.
Staff were nice, so not bombing the star rating. BUT, at least a cook and 2 servers had to have seen this food looking so overcooked, so why let it go out like that? Employees must be empowered to decide something isn’t good enough, explain & apologize to the table, & remake it edible. Also, we came maybe a year or 2 ago and I remember it being good. Different people? I don’t know, but unfortunately we won’t be back soon. Hopefully down the road we try again and it is leaps and bounds better. Won’t order the same, that’s for sure. Sorry…

I had the chicken chmi and I love it. Nice and hot great service from waitress took really good care of us. We ordered 3 different types of meals and the fish smelled great and tasted even better.

It was a good place to eat with a great atmosphere. The service was good. I gave it a 4 star all around. I’m very picky when it comes to eating. Service, Atmosphere and the food should be a smooth experience.

I order from here alot and am usually very satisfied.Tonight I’m really disappointed.My fries were soggy and cold couldn’t even eat them had to throw them away.My fish sandwich was lukewarm.I asked for onions on my sandwich and got charged a 1.00 for a handful of onions if even that.You can buy a whole onion for a dollar.If a person orders food from you they should be able to choose what they like on their sandwich.

Waited at least 30 minutes to receive food while anther couple came in and was severed food before us. We ordered pulled pork sandwich and fries and 2 bean burritos. Tired of waiting i ask for a check for our drinks. Then our food magically appeared. Told the waiter it would be separate checks and received bill for both orders on one ticket. I will not be back. Never had this poor of service anywhere.
