My wife and I were on an “adventure date” to see the Christmas lights display at Guthrie Smith Park in Fayette, AL. She found EL Compadre for dinner, so we had our plan. We missed El Compadre on the initial pass. No lighted sign to say, “Here we are!” It’s not a large place. Self-seating. Pretty extensive menu, several dishes new to us. Unlike most Mexican restaurants we’ve eaten at, the refried beans were actually seasoned a bit. The food was some of the best we’ve had.
Two to-go boxes came home! The service was good, no concerns there. The building shows its age and doesn’t appear as clean as you would expect. Maybe time will change that. The sanitation rating almost perfect, so that’s a plus. Glad we found it!

After worship, I came with a larger group comprised of 6 adults and family members. The service was outstanding. The food was hot and tasted delicious. I shared with my daughter the fajita steak nachos. They use white corn tortillas for making their tortilla chips. I loved the chips! The prices were also very reasonable.

This was my first time eating here. It was takeout but it was really good when I ate it at home. I know it would have been even better eating it when it was first fixed. I see why it’s my son’s favorite Mexican restaurant to eat at now. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. If you haven’t tried them out, you really should because you will not be disappointed.

This is far by the cleanest friendliness and wonderful food I would highly recommend it to the finest of all people wather you in a suit or just came from work you are always greeted with a smile.
