If you live or are in the area and like Chipotle come here instead. They make the tortillas fresh on the spot and you can taste the difference. Everything on the menu looks great but we had the California burrito and the nachos. We were not disappointed! So much flavor! We can’t wait to get back and try more of the menu.

Thoroughly enjoyed the birria tacos and flavorful consumé. The portion size was perfect and each taco was filled with a good amount of meat. Horchata was also delicious and not too sweet. Service was excellent and friendly. Food came out fast.

I loved the Street Tacos. Barbacoa & Carnitas are pictured. We had the chips,salsa & guacamole. We were so hungry we ate half before I realized I hadn’t taken my picture. lol. The salsa was a different consistency but very flavorful. My husband had one of the burritos and it is large enough for two people. We will definitely return. It’s within walking distance for us.

Great fast-casual spot in Eagan!
Ordered the quesabirria tacos and chicken nachos—both had tender meat and great flavor. The birria was especially good, with a generous amount of meat, and the nachos had sturdy chips that held up well to all the toppings.
The only downside was the drink selection, which is limited to bottles and cans. The worker (possibly the owner) was very friendly, and service was excellent overall.

this was soooooo disappointing. i wanted to support a local mexican spot and this one was super hyped up. we went later in the day but this is never acceptable. the tortillas were cold and hard. barely any meat, onion, or cilantro. and for over $4 a taco it’s ridiculous. the carne asada fries weren’t even fries and came with none of the toppings, also just look straight up unappealing. they also said they had no salsa to give us on the side so everything was dry. carnita tacos were soggy and tasteless. and mind you we waited over an hour to order and receive our food. don’t know if it was a bad day or what!

I ordered the quesabirria tacos for me and my wife. We have had other items from here and they were all fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed the carne asada burrito from a previous order. The people there are great and very friendly. The quesabirria tacos are delicious and very flavorful. The sauce to dip the tacos in is very good, too. I highly recommend El Compa to anyone that likes tacos and burritos. It is a great newer place in Eagan.

There are options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike (also can easily modify to be vegan) as well as both breakfast and lunch/dinner. Guac was delicious and I also loved my veggie burrito. Like the other reviewer said, come here instead of Chipotle because El Compa is leagues ahead in flavor!
Clearly the neighborhood also loves this restaurant since there were many people stopping in for carry out while I waited for my food after placing an order at the counter. 10/10

This was the worst experience I have had. The price was sort of high, the wait time was crazy long, just shy of an hour. I visited on 3/1/2026 which is a Sunday. I got there just before 2PM. I left there at 2:50 pm. I watched as their horribly disorganized prepping station piled up with parts of orders. I witness my Al Pastor torta sitting in front of them for 15 minutes, open face while they were awaiting something unknown. I also witnessed a woman drop a box of gloves on my sandwich and not make a new one. I did not know it was MY sandwich she did this to at the time. I later figured it out when I saw no other tortas on the prepping station and was handed my order.
After an extremely long wait, we drove home, just about 10 minutes and when we opened our containers, we were heavily disappointed. The side order of fries were undercooked, so they instantly went soggy. I expect them to be a little bit soggy after a drive home but this was like they never were crispy, ever, and very oily. Very obviously undercooked.
My torta was just flat out cold and soggy. There was nothing redeeming about it.
My wife got a burrito bowl which she said was fine. She did not have a complaint other than the wait and the cost.
Overall, there are no standards and severe lack of organization made this experience awful for me and my wife. Perhaps your experience will be better than mine. If things didnt sit forever and no one giving a shit about that, we wouldn’t have had the experience we did. We will not be returning, which is sad. We would prefer to support small businesses.

Clean and very very friendly place that serves amazing and authentic Mexican food that makes you feel at home. I have yet to discover any taco or Mexican joint that reminds me of familia. The tastes are so deep and spot on. They serve a huge amount of meat in each taco. We can’t wait to be back again and again to try EVERYTHING on the menu. The barbicoa is out of this world flavorful. Will be back again next week! Very convient location as well for a lunch spot!
