Got their original Flautas Cometa (the staff recommenders this). For less than 10 dollars you get 4 pretty good sized flautas with good amount of filling in them. The sauce and cheese on top were on point too. Definitely pay a visit!

My favorite place to get tacos with a great salsa bar. The restraunt is always busy but dont let the line fool you. They are quick and you get chips to snack on anyways. Food always comes out hot and the staff are always friendly. My only negative comment is that they need a bigger space, it gets so crowded but thats just because its good and everyone wants some.

Ordered bistec tacos to go and they forgot to place the order
Talked to cashier she then told the cooks and gave me this $12 dllrs for this is robbery
After I talked to the cashier, she and the cooks were looking out to my table to see if I checked my order and walked away.
They didn’t see me looking at them from the other side of the building some of them were laughing
I’ll just stick to taco tote from now on.

Very popular Mexican joint. The food is reasonably priced, and pretty decent. Presentation is not great – it’s sloppy and greasy, but tastes good. So if that’s what you’re going for – get it. They’re also open late.
They have a salsa bar so that you can top your food with whatever you’d like.

I was recommended this restaurant by some coworkers. Let me tell you that the food here was so good. Just like mom used to make. I had the flaunts. The server brought us chips and along with the salsa bar!!! I could just eat these all day. The highlight is the Salva bar and varieties. The green salsa tastes home made. I had all of them and was sweating from spiciness, but I just kept going. If you want true authentic Mexican food, this has to be your destination. I recommend this place.

Always relatively packed! Which is a sign of awesome food. And yes confirmed we love the flautas they are delicious. Service is lacking due to high customer traffic and the atmosphere is loud, crowded, and busy.

So this place is more of a self serve. I ordered the beef tacos with cheese. It comes with lots of flour tortillas, the beef plate, and the condiments you get yourself from a salad bar kind of thing. You get free nachos once you get your table. The sauces and condiments are excellent. The meat itself is average, would say 6/10 quality wise. Quantity is super generous. Price is very reasonable. I also got tres leches for dessert which was different from any usual tres leches I had before. Different in a good way, very light and not too sugary. Servers were nice. Overall I’m satisfied with the experience, but won’t go there again as I didn’t like the beef much. Maybe I’ll give a try to their pork option next time.

So we arrived in El Paso tired and hungry with no idea where to eat. A few locals told us to try El Cometa because it was open late and the food was good. It was also off the freeway and close to our hotel.
So we got to a place that was buzzing with people; eating, talking, laughing.
We looked around and saw plates with mountains of food and we realized we came to the right place!
I had the crispy rolled tacos, I know as flautas. Wife had tacos. My plate came with 4 flautas and a mountain of lettuce and cheese and so much other ingredients, I could not finish them!
Wife’s tacos came with lots of meat on a plate and several tortillas on a separate plate. She then made her own tacos and there was plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and other condiments to choose from! She could not finish her plate either!
In short, we left happy! Now the service was a little slow but it was packed so I could not surmise if the service was normally slow or it was because of the packed house.
The food was not fancy but it was good and there was plenty of it—at a very reasonable price!
If you’re in the El Paso area check it out, you will leave happy !

This place is really busy. It’s known for their authentic flautas. There is plenty of seating and parking. Not your typical mainstream type of Mexican spot. No combo plates. The salsas are all a bit on the spicy side for me and I typically go with medium salsas here in So Cal.
