Where do I start?
we ordered carnitas burrito(dry meat and no flavor at all)
Melted cheese so,so but the tortillas were cold,
Chicken taquitos(chicken 0 flavor,rice hard and 0 flavor)
Huevos rancheros my husband asked for over hard eggs and they were almost raw)
Black beans taste kind of sweet, the only good thing was the coconut horchata and the limeade.
I wonder how they manage to still be in business. We regret coming here to eat.

Our first visit. We chose Sat afternoon to avoid “the crunch”. We were promply provided Menus, and they gave us adequate time to review them. We both ordered Margaritas – well done. I had the Mole Chicken with Rice and Balck Beans – very tasty and not excessive. It was a nice experience, and we’ll be back (we’ve decided not to return to our previous favorite Mexican Restaurant downtown).

The restaurant itself is full of history and charm. Started by a couple over one hundred years ago it has plenty of celebrity endorsements over the years with signed photos and autographs to boot!
The food tells the story as well each bite of whatever you order is packed with Mexican traditional flavors, and homecooked goodness. You can tell everything is fresh ingredients, hot out of the kitchen. No cutting corners at this place.
Sauces that are pack with flavor, the perfect amount of cheese and meat cooked to tender perfection.
Definitely worth the price.

This place is a secret gem and people should try it. Plenty of parking and a big space. I used to manage a mexican restaurant by murray mall and this place id give it 9/10.
The missing star is just those little things but not a big deal, were not picky and always excited to try new restaurant. I believe water should be served to people especially when they order alcoholic drinks to help customer make sure theyre hydrated. Extra plate should be served automatically if 2 guests are sharing food. (Or you can just ask)
Prices and portion is good for 2 people i would say if you dont eat a lot. Overall, the food, the service, the ambiance and the staffs are very very nice! Rocky is such an amazing server!!! Very warmth and friendly.

Tried out El Cholo for the first time last week and overall, the experience was good. The staff was nice and welcoming – also very accommodating since we had one person from group run bit late. The restaurant was clean and the food came out pretty quickly once we ordered.
I ordered the Taste of History, which gave me a good variety of everything. The portion size was huge and I ended up having to take leftovers back home. The food tasted fine, but nothing too out of the ordinary. They definitely ended up paying more attention to the quantity vs. quality of the food. There was one small cheese enchilada, chile relleno, pork tamale (mostly maza), and rice and beans.
It’s a little pricey for what the food actually contains ($25.95), as I know there are many other places that have a similar type of dish for less.
Others in my party ordered the enchiladas and carne asada. Enchiladas were fine, again, nothing out of the ordinary. The Carne Asada came with a full piece of steak that was not very springy to the touch and firm – not the best quality.
Overall, good experience, but probably won’t be back as there are other places with better quality.

This place did not disappoint, it was amazing! We are implants to Utah and struggle to find food with robust flavor profiles local to where we actually live. This place originated out of LA, CA and you can tell, SoCal is known for their food. Great food, vibes and service. We loved chatting with Rocky and she had great recommendations. The hand made tortillas with butter and fresh guac were so good. Family owned, owner is 91 and his grandparents and their recipes started it all in 1925, such cool roots. Check it out!❤️

Happened upon this place while driving up 900 East so we stopped for lunch. It was so cute with a fantastic ambiance. We shared the Mariscos enchiladas, a margarita and finished off with the flan. It was all very tasty and I would go back if in the area again. I am glad we shared everything because even then our bill ended up close to $60 which is quite pricey for lunch.

Starting with the chips and Salsa. Everything seemed fresy made. Not store bought we wanted to ge the guacamole live. But with 3 kids. We didn’t want to over endoldge.
Kids meals were great portion sizes. No complaints there. If you add extra meat. It’s $2 dollars extra just an FYI.
The chimichanga plate was great. Different but it was portioned nice so I could take left overs home

We did a takeout on October 10th 2025. We ordered two Carmen’s nachos. We paid extra for rice beans sour cream and guacamole for our nachos. We received one measurable tablespoon of beans in each nacho serving. There was a great amount of cheese, the chips were really good. But we were charged an extra $12 for beans rice sour cream and guacamole. The manager and the waitress checked our bags before we left. We ordered combination number one, it was good. And we ordered the burrito Dorado, it was good. Are total bill was $77.50, we were over generous and gave a $15 tip, simply because these are hard times. I probably would have been just as happy with del Taco hard shells. Our first visit at El cholo when it first opened, we also took a takeout. And back then we could not stop raving about the delicious food and the portions they gave us. The taste just wasn’t there this time, and obviously the portion was a miss.
