My daughter and I tried this place and we were glad we did! The service was great! The atmosphere was great and the food and drinks were amazing! We ordered the LA Lemonade and the El Cholo Margarita both were really strong and taste delicious! I ordered the Chicken Chimichangas and my daughter ordered the Blue Corn Chicken Enchiladas. I’ve never had my Chimichanga cut in fours. That was a nice touch! We really enjoyed this place! I’ll definitely be back!……. Soon!❤️

Came in solo mid afternoon prior to Kings game. It’s close to Residence Inn and the arena. I thought prices were a bit high. But quality of my margaritas and tacos were high. The salsa that came w the complimentary chips was kinda lame, but the chips came in handy scooping the rice and beans from my taco plate. Service was decent. Recommending the Al Carbon tacos.

Absolutely delicious! Authentic Mexican food that isn’t too spicy, with warm tortillas chips, and the best salsa ever.

El Cholo is our go to restaurant when visiting LA. The food is delicious. It starts with warm chips and spicy salsa. Then you have your pick of dishes. My wife loved the mole enchiladas and I loved the steak fajitas. The portions are generous and the service is quick and friendly. You can see why this restaurant has been open for over 100 years!

Wonderful historic restaurant. Love that the plates have the year in which they were introduced. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating. Their homemade flour tortillas are delicious. The carnitas burritos got thumbs up. The only thing that didn’t get a thumbs up were the corn tortillas.

First time coming by this Sunday, we walked in. There was not a lot of people. It was too quiet, our food was okay. I’m not good enough to come back, did not taste a 100%.
Mexican authentic, the presentation was good, but the taste just wasn’t there.
Too many other, it’s great places in the area to even think about coming back to this one.

The restaurant has a more Americanized take on Mexican food, which may appeal to some, but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Many of the dishes seemed to use a similar tomato-based sauce, so the flavors didn’t stand out much.
The cocktail drinks were disappointing and lacked balance. The place got very busy, and unfortunately the service didn’t keep up, so customer attention felt limited. Tables are also quite small, which made dining a bit uncomfortable.
Overall, it may work for a quick visit if you’re nearby, but it wasn’t a standout experience for me.

I was disappointed with this location. I’ve been to other El Cholo restaurants and had much better experiences. Our server seemed overwhelmed, as he was handling many tables at once, and it affected the service. We experienced slow refills on our drinks and felt some attitude when we asked for things.
The food was also not to our liking. We had to return the carne en su jugo because the sauce was extremely thick, more like a tomato paste than a smooth broth. The tortilla soup was very salty as well.
Overall, I’m glad I tried this location, but based on this experience, I would not return.

I loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious as well. Most of their plate size is enough for one person. The service and Ambience were nice very aesthetic.
