I have been coming to el Chino since they were at there original location and combined owners.

I can honestly say that their service and food quality has been declining.

I have tried almost everything on there menu and some are better than others.

Today I tried the carne asada plate and the meat was cooked decently but the sides were not desirable the rice was hard and the tortillas were hard as if they had been heated/warmed up several times. The onions were not grilled. We let the waitress know that we were missing the guacamole and she said they might have just run out of it but she would check, she never camed back. She completely ignored us despite us trying to get her attention.

It’s sad to see that one of the few restaurants that actually served authentic Mexican food has declined so much!

It’s nice inside and warm but the bathrooms are cold. The food was not great. The green salsa is the one with the spoon was not good it was lacking flavor. My tacos were dry and didn’t come with any salsa. My husbands torta cubana was big but it came with some items it normally would not like lettuce and it was missing the ham. The chicken was chopped up like if you would put on a salad. I think my son’s meal was the only one that was the best out of the 3 meals.

We came here for a family members birthday, and were seated pretty quickly on a busy Sunday night. It was on 7-7-24 when it was 90 plus degrees outside all day, so I was surprised when we walked in and the building was super warm and humid. I don’t know if this building just doesn’t have A/C or it’s broken but definitely a bummer on a hot day like that. The food is always really good though, the service was ehhh. We had like 4 different servers and none of them really checked on us as during our meal to the point that the whole table needed refills by the time someone came around. We had a couple margaritas and those were good but be aware the drink menu has no pricing so that’s a little shady in my opinion. Would I be back? Not sure, maybe on a cool day.

Been there three time so far and I love the food and it’s always displayed on the plate like it should be in a magazine. It looks and tasted great. Staff has always been awesome. I do wonder every time I’m there if the chef is the owner or not, because it’s always spotless In side and staff is well trained and those dishes come out with serious pride and attention to details, so much so I go back just to look at the chefs plates. He or she obviously love being a cook and it shows! Oh and pricing is very reasonable too.

Food was pretty good but the service really lacked.
We had Aaron say he was our waiter but after taking our order he didn’t come back unless we stopped him when passing by which leads to a lower rating on service.
Had to ask for a hotter salsa, had to ask for more salsa then ask for more chips, had to ask for straws.
We asked for lemon in our water and he brought us slices of limes and charged us $1, a little odd and unexpected but ok.
I didn’t expect my burrito to come wrapped in foil, made it seem more like a lunch burrito you order off a lunch truck, didn’t feel like we were ordering a dinner plate.

If you look at my plate the burrito it quit large, I wish they put the burrito on a larger plate so I could manage it better while cutting into it.

Needed more salsa to pour some on my burrito but no one available. Wife got something she didn’t expect but no one available.

Saw Aaron and signaled for the check although he nodded yes he was extremely busy with others, serving things and getting more orders from new patrons.
Fortunately the girl greeting saw us as I hand signaled for the check and closed us out.

The robot they have delivering food to the table to wait for a server to hand place is insanely futuristic and amazing, but don’t think we would come back to this place with the poor server we received.

Cannot recommend this place but it is extremely busy so they must be doing something right.

My husband loves this place, and for me it’s good. But, with the addition to brunch on the menu, it is now great for me as well. The service has always been great which adds a great flavor and experience to our visit. I look forward to coming back more often. Thank you for the great food and especially the great service.

I
the restaurant was bustling, which can sometimes affect service. Despite the hiccup with the drinks and timing of the courses, it’s great to tell that the food was delicious and the ambiance was enjoyable. Overall, it seems like a promising spot with potential for improvement in the service department.

It is so tasty, so don’t miss the “camarones zarandeados” and the octopus ceviche.

I read the reviews so I was not sure what to expect since they varied . Our experience was wonderful. Our wait was 15 minutes on a very busy day. So glad we waited. Our service was great, the drinks were good, our food was delicious. We will definately be returning.

Shout out to El Chino in their new (since December) location on 10th ave. We had not visited since they moved and this place is great. A lot more seating. TVs easily visible from pretty much every table. New bar with hi top tables. And of course food is always authentic and yummy.
