I lived a few blocks from El Chilito for many years. I finally decided to order some tacos… OMG, I only wish I started eating their food years ago ! However, that just means I have a lot to catch up on…. Great home made tacos, the meat was moist and super flavorful. Already thinking of my next meal at El Chilito!!!!

Ordered 1 torta charra and it was better than expected. Between Chipotle down the street or this place. It will have to be this place every time hands down for authentic Mexican food and although the torta in used to are really big I couldn’t complain the taste was there and it was filling. Will be back for sure.

I never write bad reviews but I had the worst experience here tonight…I ordered my food and picked it up…one item was missing all together…I ordered the hamburger which was listed under their taco section so I assumed it was a hamburger meat taco but they sent me 2 burgers…i ordered the beef brisket quesadilla and what was in my Quesadilla looks like Chicharrón…I called the restaurant and told them what happen and the women I spoke to told me that I was wrong and what’s in the quesadilla is beef brisket…I told her it wasn’t and she kept telling me I was wrong..I asked for a refund and she said she would have the owner call…he called me back very quickly but also proceeded to tell me I was wrong…I told
Him that the meat that is in it is a white meat like pork…and he said his pork is shredded…I said It’s Chicharrón that is in my quesadilla and that is not shredded…and he said “so its chicharron and not pork?” Chicharron is pork…he then told me that his Mexican beef brisket is cubed and a white meat…and I told him beef brisket is a red meat…the arguing continued…I never write bad reviews and I normally enjoy their food but the customer service was the worst customer service I have ever experience in my life…I was never offered a new item, not even an apology…just that I was wrong…I attached a photo of the so called “special Mexican white meat beef brisket”

I highly recommend this Mexican joint! I had the Burrito Chilango (Chorizo and steak) and it was amazingly fresh, hot, spicy, crispy and everything else you want from a burrito. Ask for it toasted or “durado” for a delicious crisp. The location is a little strange but don’t be fooled; this restaurant makes wonderful food!

This place serves really great food, always made fresh. Gets really busy during lunch. I recommend calling ahead with your order because the wait time can exceed 1/2 an hour for your order. Great menu and authentic drinks. Staff is fantastic and has been the same for tens of years. 11/10

Food is still good, but they’ve gotten extremely dishonest with their pricing. Ordered over the phone while looking at the website prices , and when I came to pick up, the bill was significantly higher, with items being up to multiple dollars more expensive. When I questioned the total, the cashier stated that the menu prices are newer than those on the website and handed me a paper menu. If you’ve had the time to print a new menu, how could you possibly not have time to change website prices as well? Of course, no offer from her to honor the website prices. On top of that, after leaving and comparing my itemized receipt with the menu she handed me, I noticed that the charges on my receipt for some of the items were higher even than those on the paper menu she handed me! This is disgusting, insulting, underhanded behavior by this establishment. The restaurant has been reported to the BBB and chamber of commerce.
