WORTH THE TRIP
I recently visited El Chile Restaurant Mexican Grill in Plano, Illinois with a client, after a visit to the Farnsworth House; despite the distance from Chicago, it was absolutely worth the trip!
El Chile is located in Plano, Illinois; the outward appearance is minimal, as is the interior decor.
However, the food and the service is excellent.
Our waiter was very helpful, and very patient; I should mention he did not speak English well but he was trying to hard to accommodate us it didn’t matter.
I only wish I spoke better Spanish and perhaps this is something I need to work on for myself, but no matter: he was very attentive and very nice to us.
The chips & salsa were presented first and the salsa OH MY GOD THE SALSA.

I have never had better salsa in my life.
Thick, rich, full of flavour and bursting with spice and heat; it was absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
Yes, it burned the roof off my mouth but who cares; it was incredible.
It was clearly made from scratch using fresh ingredients and the care and attention to it was well noted.
I ordered the carne asada tacos and they were incredibly delicious as well: hot, perfectly seasoned and my only complaint is that I should have ordered more of them!
Hot diggity dog!
There was a tray of wonderful dipping sauces presented with the tacos as well; I don’t recall the different types but they were all tasty and delectable.
The salsa was so good my client and I ordered a tub of it for each of us, to go…and I’m sorry to say it didn’t last very long once I got home…oh my god, it was good!
I heartily recommend El Chile and it is definitely WORTH THE TRIP.

Not fancy, not fussy, just really good authentic Mexican food. It is so authentic I honestly don’t know what a lot of things on the menu are but everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The rice and beans are always fresh and tasty. I love the chicken burrito dinner. We return again and again for a reliable, delicious dinner. This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve found in the Western Suburbs. Employees are unfailingly polite and friendly. A hidden gem!

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten it. The sauces are very good their avocado salsa is like the best I’ve ever tasted ever better than what I can even make. The Verde sauce is very good they also have the mango habanero salsa which is so delicious and then their normal regular salsa is so good they give you chips and salsa with any order that you make for free. The staff is amazing friendly and very helpful the place is very clean you also get cucumbers with your food and radishes which is so good I always get extra cucumbers and they also have a gaming room if you’re feeling bored . I have never waited over 10 minutes for my food normally it takes about 3 to 4 minutes. I have been coming to this establishment now for two years and I moved out of town but I drive an hour away just to come to eat here. I recommend this place highly recommend if you have not tried this place that you come to good old Plano and try it!!!!

Um… I just ate the best taco ive ever had in my entire life and ive eaten a looooot of tacos.
Fresh, juicy, piping hot off the grill and just absolutely delicious. And they give you lime and 3 kinds of salsa, all of them were yummy.
I had the vegetarian tacos with mushrooms, fresh onions, and avacado, and peppers. I asked to hold the dairy. It was supremely delicious and I will be coming back.
