My husband and I arrived to have lunch since we haven’t eaten here in a few years. Arrived and sat at the bar. Sat for about 15 min before receiving any chips and salsa and immediately informed that we knew what we wanted and was ready to order. Our order was not taken at this time. We sat for another 15 to 20 and informed that we wanted out ticket so we can go eat somewhere else as we already been sitting for 30 to 35 min total. Staff member and I’m assuming it’s the manager, request for us to place order with her and she will take care of it. Before it got to the point of us wanting to leave the establishment, we observed the lady who was working the bar walking around and serving everyone else around us, even those who walked in after and sat at bar was immediately waiting upon, received their chips and salsa and was able to place their order. Also witness others who arrived after us receive their food before we even placed our order. Made us feel like we was not welcomed or wanted in establishment as we were looked over. We observed that more staff is needed at the bar area as staff member has to work the bar and booths surrounding the bar. Manager did try to rectify the situation but it doesn’t take away from the experience while there.

Very accommodating to my strict vegetarian and no onion/garlic diet. Substituted the rice for French fries (fried in vegetable oil)!

This place was an unexpected gem near our hotel as we were passing through Texarkana. If you like interesting Sangria recipes, try their version…it’s literally a Sangria Slushie with citrus flavored sherbet! The tableside guac was great, as was our friendly server. The fajitas were tasty too. Def try this place!

Stopped for lunch while traveling and I’m glad I did! Best El Chico I’ve dined at by far. Our server was fantastic, friendly and quick. Definitely recommend stopping for lunch.

We had such a wonderful experience at El Chico’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. What really made our visit stand out, though, was our server, Holly. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. Her positive attitude and genuine kindness made our meal even more enjoyable.

This place is awesome! Easy access for those traveling i30 and amazing service. There was only 1 man and 1 woman working the whole front of restaurant and they killed it! We got our food ordered timely, drinks delivered and refilled promptly, and great food! The Tex Mex for 2 meal was delicious. Will stop again!

My order was delivered. I live 1/2 mile from restaurant. My chicken enchiladas arrived cold, were hard (had to use a knife to cut into hite size portion, were not fresh and tasted like they were prepared 2 days ago. If dinner was prepared fresh and placed in to go box hot it would have been hot 1/2 mile later.

Well as painful as it is to do this review El Chico’s is on the decline. The food is not what it used to be or what it should be. Service isn’t terrible but could be better. The food is becoming very bland and under cooked. The salsa is now the consistency of water. I would love to update this review and see this place turned around.
