This was my first time eating here but Man what can I say but wow what a great breakfast. Growing up in our house when we sat down to eat and when you finished you would always here “hay mas” (translation “there’s more”). Tell you what you won’t be saying that at this place. The portions are plenty and the food was amazing. Thanks I’ll have to stop by and try you lunch and dinner menu. I highly recommend.

Stopped by El Charro in Cameron with some friends after a long day of riding. It was a cooler day, so we asked for something warm to drink — and the waitress went above and beyond by brewing a fresh pot of coffee and making hot tea for us. Super kind and attentive service!
The food was great, the service matched it, and the whole experience hit the spot. If you’re in Cameron and looking for solid food and friendly people, this is a great place to stop. Highly recommend!

We were passing through on our way to another town when we became hungry. We noticed this restaurant and decided to stop in for a little bit of lunch. The wait staff was fabulous. This group of ladies really takes pride and ownership and delivering a quality product for a reasonable price. I ordered the tamales which were pretty good I just wish that they had a bit more flavor or spice to them and a larger portion because these were some of the small tamales. My companion ordered the mix fajitas and seemed to really enjoy them. Please come out and patronize this establishment you won’t regret it.

So, you may be confused by my score… All the food we had was great; the people were nice; and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I had to knock my total score down from 5, because the building needs some renovations. I know some people might not give this place a try based on the curb-appeal, but miss out… We had the Fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, steak, rice, refired beans, charro beans, chips, and salsa. I can not list anything wrong with any of it. The pico, salsa, and guacamole were all fresh. I also grabbed some imported snacks on the way out. The prices for dinner were on par with most dine-in, and definitely worth the quality. Give them a try, because you won’t regret it.

I don’t recommend this place. Starting with finding a bug a fly in our kids chicken nuggets was not what I was expecting to find. I was so grossed out. We didn’t get asked if we needed refills in any of our drinks. Kids nuggets looked like burnt hard rocks. Over all I was very disappointed in the food and service.

We walked right in for an early supper. Ordered Queso Compuesto, then a tostado and enchiladas. All the food and drink was good-excellent guacamole and homemade hot sauce. Service was friendly, prompt, and we would definitely stop here again! We left no food to waste!

Service was fast, and good, though they were not busy. The food on the other hand, lacked their normal good quality. In the picture, you can just see the taco they served. It’s that milk chocolate colored shell, in front of the rice, tried to eat my lunch, just couldn’t.

Every time that I visit Cameron El Charro is a must stop. The quality of the food is pretty good. Blanca is one of the best waitress she is kind and is checking that you don’t miss anything on your table. Over the years today I saw that it needs a SOS remodeling and new seats.
