Has anyone tried the El Charro Loco buffet in Grand Junction, CO?
Tried it tonight. No grilled meat options. Mainly stewed meats, soups, and enchiladas that were all edible. Waitress was very attentive.

Everyone has to come here! I’ve left a review on here before but this place is delicious. Every time I drive by it looks slow but it should be packed. Great people!! Great food presentation!! Great delicious food!! Go try it. Prices are good too!!

El Charro Loco is hands-down one of our favorite spots in town. We’ve been here four times now—just for the Molcajete, which is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s sizzling, flavorful, perfectly spiced, and honestly addictive. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and order it on your first visit.
The atmosphere here is incredible—vibrant, cozy, and full of energy without ever feeling overwhelming. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer and soak it all in.
Service? Impeccable. Gabby, our waitress, was an absolute gem—so warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. She made us feel totally at home and remembered us from a previous visit, which was such a nice touch.
If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, great vibes, and top-tier service, El Charro Loco is the place. We’ll be back again soon—and yes, we’ll be ordering the Molcajete. Again.

This was our first visit to this newly established local restaurant. We have been hearing positive reviews from friends. It appears to be a local family, with their own presentation and flavor profiles. As many Mexican restaurants, they have a large menu with the typical categories. Prices are also typical & reasonable with a dinner platter between $15-25 depending on the meat. I ordered the Enchilada Nortena with 3 smaller enchiladas that was very filling: steak, grilled chicken & potato/chorizo. (5) Each enchilada has its own special sauce that is very unique and extremely flavorful. My husband ordered the #3 Combo plate with a crunchy ground beef taco (4), ground beef enchilada (4) and a chili relleno that is battered and fried (5). Poblano is meaty filled with cheese, covered with just right amount of sauce. Extremely flavorful. Both platters come with refried, puréed beans (5) and Spanish rice (4). Presentation is done with care and precision. I normally enjoy refried beans that are on the chunky side (personal preference) but these were exceptional. Also don’t normally enjoy Spanish rice but also very flavorful with a touch of melted cheese on top. Plates came out piping hot. Table served with freshly made warm tortilla chips (5) and excellent home made salsa, pureed (5). We will definitely return and try more dishes. Love that they have well made flavors that are their own. It’s not just a typical Mexican cuisine. Service was good, prompt and attended to at the right times. Atmosphere is nice, quiet with the decor of their culture. Exceptionally clean.

Me & my family ordered take out. We ordered the pork enchiladas and they taste like chalk and corn tortillas super bland 0/10 and the beans look like liquid prison food. The chips are really good though and the guacamole is outstanding and the rice is really good too. The salsa tastes like an dirty old lettuce leaf, I ordered just chicken and cheese nachos and nothing else and there’s literally everything under the sun on my nachos like a bunch of sour cream and tomatoes for no reason and they are very soggy and cold and the chicken doesn’t look very good. 0/10 will never order from here ever again this is the worst mexican food ever. DO NOT ORDER.

Very delicious food, meal was plated beautifully, the chimichangas were not greasy at all and cooked to perfection. This tasted very clean and healthy by comparison to most of the chimi’s I order! Restaurant is very clean and aesthetically pleasing! I am excited to try more of the menu in the future!

Best Molcajete I have ever had! The sauce was out of this world. Everything was SO FRESH and the service was attentive and friendly from the time we walked in, to the time we left. My Fiancé ordered the Tacos Carne Asada, and she was amazed on how tender and juicy the meat was. This is a new Mexican restaurant to the Western Slope and I can confidently say it will be one of the top, local Mexican Restaurants.
