Stopped here for an early dinner on the way back from terre haute. The menu has plenty of options, probably a little too much. The atmosphere is pretty cool and I wish I could have sat by the bar, but my kids aren’t old enough. Salsa was good and the food was an 8.5 out of 10, one of the better Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at.

This place is the best. It’s not technically “real authentic” but it’s probably the best Tex Mex I’ve had in Indy so far. Luckily it’s only a minute from my house too. Food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The staff there are always friendly and great and the birthday performance they do is really entertaining rather than annoying, lol.

We usually only get to eat here once or twice a year when we’re traveling, but to anyone who has never visited or loves Mexican food, this place is the bomb!
The food is amazing, seems familiar but also authentic. The Margherita’s both on the rocks or blended are AMAZING! Just make sure you’re aware of the sizes as a smaller one, even an 8oz would’ve been enough for me at lunch, or you could opt for the jumbo and they’ll gladly pour what’s left into a to- go drink container. The atmosphere is fun and uniquely decorative. Our server was great and was able to make modifications for allergies, etc.
The food served is always excellent. The only thing I would change would be the guacamole as it was just a little too bland for me. Others may love it. I’ll order it again and I’m sure they’ll gladly spice it up to your liking.

This place has such good reviews; I don’t know if my expectations were just too high or if they were having a bad night? We stopped the Saturday evening after Christmas. It was pretty full when we arrived, but we found a place to park. They were able to seat us immediately. It is a large space, and the decor is really colorful and fun. Our waiter arrived promptly and we gave him our drink order. It’s a large menu and we weren’t ready to order when he returned with our margaritas, so we asked him to come back in a few minutes. It was quite a while before he returned, and I accept that was our fault for not being ready to order when he first arrived. We all ordered. It was again quite a while before our food arrived, but they were busy so no worries. It was two different servers who delivered our food and they didn’t deliver mine, but I assumed it was coming. The proportions were large. Although my dad like his dish, both my mom and my partner had issues with theirs. Both had beans with their dishes, and they were maybe room temperature? My partner said his dish was really bland and my mom didn’t care for hers either. Everyone was nearly done eating before my platter arrived. I also had beans and again, they were lukewarm at best. The place really cleared out by the time I had my food. I guess we should have complained and maybe they would have done something, but complaining feels awkward. When I paid at the counter, she asked how it was and I shrugged and said “eh” and she didn’t ask any more. Next time we are in Crawfordsville, we’ll try one of the other options for Mexican.

Great mexican place. We enjoyed the vibe. Delicious food. We tried fried fish and grilled prawns. Grilled prawns with garlic sauce is delicious. Even though we were charged more than the listed price in the menu for fried fish and prawns, we didn’t care to check. Also recommend their Cantarito drink.

Me and my husband come to eat here on a regular basis & we’ve always had great food and experience. Just this afternoon for lunch we had the worst service we’ve ever had at this location, sat 10 minutes without being greeted, 20 minutes without a drink and over 45 minutes without getting our food. We ended up leaving due to our toddler (and us) getting impatient. Nobody came to check on us or tell us any updates about our food & people who were sat after us were receiving their food. I’m very disappointed in this experience and not sure if we will ever come back.

I had a pleasant experience at El Charro. The atmosphere inside was an artist dream. I love the decor inside this restaurant. I enjoyed my chicken, bacon and mushrooms tacos. El Charro has their own take on salsa. El Charro had a completely different kind of salsa then I have ever had before. I recommend trying them out for sure. Also the service was good and they were kind to us.

The restaurant has a salsa that is unique, you will likely either like it or dislike it, for me the initial taste was “ew” but then an after taste kicked in and I was like “oh ok maybe it isn’t bad” I did continue to eat it, the salsa also has a creamy texture. The food was good in general everyone seemed happy. They were somewhat busy at the time but follow up visits by wait staff was not as often as might be expected. For my own food the language barrier with our waiter proved to be a problem as we communicated about what I wanted on my burritos for several minutes but they still came with only steak on them. The steak was very good, so I wish the other items had been inside. Overall it was a good experience however and the food was good

The flavor of the food is great; I ordered a garlic mojo filete, and it was super tasty. For my drink, I had a delicious cantarito. Our waiter, David, was very nice and friendly, with great recommendations. The only downside was that the cashier with glasses was a bit rude. But overall, everything else was excellent, and I definitely recommend this place because they have a lot of variety.
