My husband and I ate lunch here today and I must say I really enjoyed the experience overall. Our waitress was nice she brought out tortilla chips and you can grab whatever salsa they have available. Me and my husband loved the green one. It was so delicious. I don’t remember the name of the flavor. My husband enjoyed his burrito and taco. I enjoyed my taco and hot wings. I don’t know the name of the taco I got but it didn’t have meat just potatoes and cheese and peppers. I never had that before surprisingly really tasty our waitress picked it for me. My tamale was over cooked. But they gladly took it off the bill. Would I eat here again? Yes I most definitely would.

Take a short trip to Mexico, no plane necessary. El Charrito Taqueira right here in Aiken is your ticket to really good, authentic Mexican food. We have eaten there a number of times recently and the food is excellent. We’ve had tamales, tacos, tortas, ceviche, and charro beans along with horchata to drink and other items, big beers also. So, it’s fair to say we’ve had a good sample of what they offer but by no means everything on their extensive menu. The salsa bar is a real treat with a wide variety of salsas from mild to spicy, all very tasty. As good as the food is here, and as nice as the staff is El Charrito Taqueira should be packed with customers from the moment they open til closing. We will continue to eat here regularly.

Hands down, without a doubt the most authentic food you will find for miles. A must go to for lovers of this style food. Once you walk in you are greated with cartoonish style hand painted mexican theme are across all the walls. It’s very unique and gives a nice authentic feels. I think the food is a mix between Mexican and Guatemalan. I could very well be wrong about that. I had a tamale wrapped in a banana leaf so that is why I believe a touch of Guatemalan is in the food. The space has plenty of seating for multiple families to eat despite what you might see from the outside, looks small. Endless chips and a self service salsa bar with exceptionally tasting handmade salsas, pickled habaneros, jalapeños and more. I can’t explain how good the food was. Bring your family, your date, or yourself and enjoy the best Mexican joint around. This is a mom and pop joint. I hope the owners stick to what they are doing and all the best for them and their family! Amazing food and experience.

Ate here yesterday. The ceviche tostada was extremely fresh & delicious. I could eat it by the bowlful. Tacos were yummy as usual but I HAD to come back and review the CHURROS!! Phenomenal. I didn’t know a churro could be so impressive. They were stuffed with a caramel cream and I simply can not wait to order them again. She’s also working on a berry stuffed churro! The service was outstanding. I love this place.
As authentic as it gets, these are the best tacos in Aiken. I had lengua, cachete and barbacoa. The lengua was the best I’ve ever had and the cachete was outstanding. Both were very tender & full of flavor, served traditionally with onion and cilantro on homemade corn tortillas.They came with a small bowl of charro beans which were smoky and satisfying. My dining companion had mini tacos with 5 different protein choices and said the tinga was a winner. There’s a salsa bar with lots of options of spicy salsas and a few mild choices. The tomatillo was bright and delicious and I really enjoyed the pepitas salsa that was different & complex. I drank guava agua fresco from the large selection of flavors. The service was excellent, perhaps a bit too intrusive but excellent none the less. I’m eager to try the ceviche, oyster cocktail and their breakfast in the future. Highly recommended.

It was take out for two orders. I got chicken milanesa and cheese Birria. It was delicious wow. Really helpful waitress. Got two juices, Passion Fruit and Mango, delicious too
