Read through the Google review and decided to give this place a try. There is no menu, and the lady who greeted me first doesn’t speak English. I am already loving this place, expecting some homemade delicious food. I ordered a brisket tortas and ask the 2nd lady who greeted me who speakes English for recommendations. She said something and I was like, sure! I didn’t know whY I actually order when I ordered it.

Turns out, the food were amazing!!!!!! The brisket tortas, the bread is buttery, not one of the soft ones I typically like but sooooooo flavorful. The texture of the bread is good too, but if you expected the soft one, that’s not the kind, but still very delicious. The brisket is juicy and flavorful. Overall it is delicious.

But … The taco which I later found out, alambre taco plates, is super delicious!!! It is so flavorful with layers of complex flavors and texture. The Mexican rice is moist and season really well. Adding the sauce they provided, it is unforgettably delicious. I regret not to get more … If I am ever in town again, will definitely come back!

What a gem!!! Some of the absolutely best tacos and plates I’ve ever had. The owners were super accommodating, kind, friendly, and welcoming. I live in Houston and we’re visiting Terlingua and drove into Presidio. The hour and a half drive from terlingua is absolutely worth it! Congrats to Pepe and his wife for 15 years of great food and service.

My son and I stopped yesterday and enjoyed their amazing food. The enchiladas were incredible as well as the tacos. The horchata was the best we have ever had. The service was quick and friendly.

This place is a must-go. Homemade everything. Salsas, tortillas. Spicy red salsa worth the suffering. Meat tender and flavorful. Bit of a parking lot feel despite nice picnic tables.

The park ranger at Fort Leaton recomanded we try this place and said it was also dog friendly. This place is absolutely delicious, the customer service is great, the tacos, Jamaica and horchata were amazing. We definitely recomand El Changarrito to anyone that likes authentic Mexican food and it’s in the area. Our huskies also enjoyed resting here

Excellent authentic Mexican food after a long day of hiking in Big Bend. I had the Chili Relleno with Carne Asada. My wife had the brisket taco plate. Add on two hibiscus teas and it made for a phenomenal lunch! This is now our go to stop when you leave the park.

Picnic tables under an awning so nothing fancy. The alambre burrito was filling and awesomely good! Red salsa was unusually tasty and spicy. I would eat lunch there once a week if I lived in Presidio. Two different local cop cars stopped for takeout during our lunch…always a sure sign of good food at reasonable prices.

Wife & I stopped here while passing through to Big Bend Ranch State Park & the NP. We got the vegetable burritos ($6.99 each + tax) & they were delicious, had a great taste. The horchata (about $4.25) was delish too.
