We stood at the door for a few minutes before the waitress even acknowledged us. Just to say seat yourself. Then another waiter came out and gave us 2 menus and there were 3 of us . No one else in the place completely empty. So no excuse on the services from the beginning. The food was ok but not what I expected. It was out fast too fast for fresh food mexican food. The rice was hard like it was reheated. Tomatoes were old and wilted. Just overall not what I expected. Price was ok

Some if the best food I have had. Our server was very kind and served us well. I had chicken chumachiga and my husband had a shrimp dish. Both served hot and all around good. My only thing I noticed was that the menu price was $8.99 since I ordered off lunch menu but was charged $10.99. Still reasonable for quality of food but they should change the price on menu folder. We will be back when we are in the area

Travelling through and looking for a place to have dinner. Took a chance & was delighted!! Great food, fast & friendly service, reasonable pricing. The chips were thin & crispy, the tortilla of my quesadilla was fresh, handmade, lots of chicken. My husband’s beef burrito was hot in the middle still when he was half way through it! Service was excellent. Great choice of Mexican restaurants in Sikeston MO! Would highly recommend El Cerrito Mexican Restaurant!!

We were on a family road trip and looking for a place to stop that wasn’t too far off the route. This place had good reviews, so we thought we would give it a try and I’m so glad we did! The server was super nice and this was the best mexican food I’ve had in a very long time!! I often struggle to eat out because at most places the food is too salty and burns my mouth. The food here was tasty and flavorful but not overly salted. We ordered the chunky guacamole as an appetizer, which was basically freshly chopped avocado and pico de gallo mixed together. It also came with a fresh lime to add if desired. It was amazing!! ✨️ I wish we lived closer, so I could eat there regularly.

Quick stop to eat and was not sure how it would be because we are from New Mexico and we have authentic mexican food there. I had the Pollo Durango and my husband had the carne asada plate. This place did not disappoint. It was delicious.The staff were super friendly and welcoming! I would definitely recommend this place!!

I was in from out of town and this was recommended after a visit to a different place resulted in disappointment. I love the tacos at a place near my house and the bar is pretty high. These met and *almost* surpassed that bar. I got 2 steak and 2 chicken and they were absolutely delicious. Love the inclusion of pico. Bonus – the gentleman working the front counter (maybe the owner?) was so sweet and we had a great conversation. If I’m ever back in Sikeston, I will eat here again.

Ordered take out. Although the sounds & smells had me excited it lacked in the taste department. Just about everything tasted the same. Same cheese sauce, same recipe for different meats. Staff was very personable. The restaurant was clean. They even had margaritas to go. Would come back for chips, salsa & margies.
