El Centenario Mexican Grill is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in Kentwood! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated with a modern yet authentic vibe. The service is outstanding friendly, attentive, and quick.

The food is absolutely delicious! I had the whole fried fish with rice, fresh salad, and roasted jalapeño, and it was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. Their rice is full of flavor, the veggies are crisp, and everything tastes homemade.

Whether you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine, looking for a great family restaurant, or want a fun spot for drinks and dinner with friends, El Centenario is the place to go. Great food, great drinks, and a true taste of Mexico right here in Kentwood. Highly recommend!

I had gotten the – Carne Asada Taco – Warm flour tortillas filled with grilled steak, topped with fresh pico de gallo, creamy guacamole, sour cream, refried beans, and served with a side of rice and medium spice salsa! So good!

Absolutely great place to go to eat. Great and friendly service as well! When getting inside we were greeted immediately seating given a good amount of time to order, and had ordered I have some health issues so when I asked about certain questions concerning the food the server was excellent at letting me know.
Also checking in on me and my family as well! And the food came out fresh!
Absolutely recommend to go here to eat it is definitely worth it!

I come here on my half-hour lunch break and grab three tacos to go. It’s always quick, delicious, and the staff is super friendly. The horchata is amazing—some of the best I’ve had. The verde sauce is outstanding, and the chips and salsa that come with the tacos make this the best spot around for me!! Taco Tuesday is a really good deal as well!!

A must try Mexican restaurant if you’re on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. A vibrant interior with many TVs and a bar, complimentary chips and salsa, and good/quick service. Their menu is huge (can make the decision making a little difficult). Party tried the beefy queso dip to start (their ground beef is heavily seasoned and tasty). Then we tried the fajita taco salad with chicken and the #20 combo. The chicken was seasoned well and was so juicy, and the combo platter was delicious too. The portion sizes are definitely worth the money. Only “downside” is they serve Pepsi products (but they do offer alcohol and many flavors of Jarritos). We will definitely be going back again.

First time here in the area. I decided to try El Centenario Mexican Grill. The interior is very clean and the staff is friendly. I ordered a guacamole dip and a Michelada with corona. The Michelada is very tasty better than other mexican restaurants in the area. The guacamole dip is okay. I ordered the quesabirria tacos. The tacos came with rice and beans. The quesa birria tacos are amazing. My waitress Gimena did not disappoint when she recommended ordering them. You can make 2 tacos out of 1. The meat is tender. The consome taste 9/10. Waaay better than other places in the area. Definitely come try this place out. Theres plenty of parking as well.

Food an drinks are delish and at decent prices. Love the chips and salsa. Nice and clean! My chimichanga was very good. Although my husband ordered the steak an shrimp an it was very overdone. That is ok if you want good steak go to a steakhouse! Overall, it was a good experience.

Nos gusta mucho! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant ever. Their molcajete is top notch and large enough for three hungry teenagers to split. You will not be disappointed. The birria pizza is also pretty great. We suspect that other food is equally good, but as with most restaurants, some things are better than others. Try the molcajete your first visit and go from there. Regarding drinks, the large mugs of Dos Equis Amber are a reasonable price, and the margarita specials during happy hour will rock your world. One is enough and two will make you worthless for the night. Lastly, we always sit in the section staffed by a guy named Junior. He is a really kind and hard working dude. Oh, and if you like hot salsa, ask Junior for some of the hot green or red salsa that they have in the back. The flavor is great.

Nice place, they did a good job painting inside and converting it from the seafood place it was. Staff were very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The menu is very extensive, prices are average. Chips were good. Salsa was runny but good. Cheese sauce was very good, one of the best I’ve had around town. Homemade hot sauce was good and spicy. Beans were fresh but not very flavorful. Rice was cooked fine, ok flavor but I wouldn’t order it as a meal. All the meat was cooked well and seasoned well. The chipotle sauce was the star of my meal.

Great food and service! They got many options to choose from. Our food was done pretty quickly as well, 3 of us took maybe 10 minutes to cook. Definitely an underrated spot, didn’t have much business when we went during dinner rush hrs. Personally I ended up getting the spicy burrito which was good but MASSIVE, had quite a bit leftover but I guess getting the moneys worth lol.
