I love tamales and if you have ever made them yourself, you will know it is a huge undertaking so when I see Tamal or Tamales on a menu they are my choice. I ordered 2 Tamales and a side salad. Side salad was not on the menu but they were happy to accommodate my request. I also ordered a Strawberry Margarita which also was not on the menu but they could make it. The strawberry margarita was refreshing and delicious and served in a tall glass. The Tamales were superb and I savored every bite. My friend had the Almond Chicken which looked wonderful and it too was proclaimed to be so good the plate was left clean. The atmosphere is lovely, you could just pop in with friends for a cocktail and sit fireside in the lounge area. Don’t be afraid to make a special request here. The staff were so nice.

Was recommended this place by a customer at work who said they drive from Portland to Warenton just to have a meal here. We really enjoyed our meal. The complimentary chips we DELISH. The salsas were perfect. We had the flaunts, and a few tacos to sample their other meats. Everything was delightful. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

The enchilada sauce was amazing on the chicken enchiladas. The place was quiet when we arrived, but quickly got busy. The burrito was a generous portion and they subbed tomatoes for pico de gallo and refried beans for the pinto beans. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I am writing this review as the meal comes. I was warmly greeted by the hostess when I walked in. I was immediately served a dish of delicious I think homemade chips with three kinds of dips. The food is cooked out in the open which I always appreciate.
The food just came and it is absolutely excellent! I am camping nearby and think I will come back here for dinner tomorrow.

MEXICAN CUISINE DONE RIGHT! Hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants that I’ve been to in this area in a long long time! Everything that we ordered from the appetizer to our main entree was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, presentation is on point, service was outstanding – the entire experience was wonderful from the beginning to the end. Their menu had just the right amount of dishes to choose from, not an overkill of one too many tacos or burritos that all sound the same. We enjoyed the Empanadas (Amazing!) The Pollo A La Crème ( So good!) Two Tacos (Yummy!) and the Asada de Res (Bomb!) & The Enchiladas (You won’t be disappointed!) My only regret is wishing I had found this spot sooner! Thank you El Cantrin for a wonderful first time experience at your restaurant – my family, friends & I will surely be back!!!! Mexican food done right!!!!

Very clean, spacious, and quiet. Owners are very friendly and happy to answer questions. Staff is always professional and friendly. Drinks are excellent and fresh-made. Haven’t had everything on the menu, but fajitas, enchiladas, taco salad, and birria tacos are excellent! The birria tacos are the best in the area. Perfectly crisp tortillas. The broth is amazing, I drink the rest of it on the side.
UPDATE: It’s still awesome! I tried the pollo a la crema & the flautas appetizer. They were both great. The poblano cream sauce with the pollo is delicious and plentiful. They also know how to serve up a shot of tequila. Lime, salt, chilled glass. Perfecto!

Hands down the BEST FLAVOR of any Mexican restaurant in Clatsop County. They have a wonderful variety on their menu. Great prices and fantastic family run business. Cannot recommend enough!

They have 3 different hot sauce that they serve with the most delicious chips. The creamy green one is avacado and very mild, the green salsa is a mild too but similar to tomatillos and the red salsa was hot but still had a great flavor. The biria tacos needed more meat, it was a little skimpy, but the flavor was good. The rice, although cooked perfectly needed more seasoning. Being over 6ft you’re always looking for comfortable seating and this place had it. Handicap seating as well. The vegetarians in our group were very happy with all the selections. Definitely recommended

Will say the enchiladas were great just small portions, but my husbands burrito was mostly beans and rice with 5 tiny cubes of chicken… my mothers fajitas were bland sadly. We ordered drinks and took 20 minutes before we had to ask for our drinks (It was just us and another table in the building). Other than that it wasn’t terrible, very nice people.
