“It’s a Mexican FAMILY Restaurant…” Elias Benavidez, the founder of the El Caporal Restaurants, was frequently heard explaining to employees and customers. The first El Caporal was opened in 2004 with that mission to create a Mexican family restaurant, where good food and a comfortable welcome was for everyone. To walk into an El Caporal is to walk into your local Mexican restaurant, and it goes beyond just fajitas, tacos, and margaritas (Although we make delicious fajitas, tacos, and margaritas!). We offer a wide variety of classic Mexican dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Our menu is inspired by our heritage; merging Latin flavors with American favorites.

This place is nowhere near the 4.5 review it currently has. Service was decent, inside was nice, but the food is meh (that is the nicest thing I could say).
Everything we ordered was bland. The beans had no flavor. The food was was delivered 2 minutes after ordering (that’s not a good thing)

My children and I came here to eat for the first time. I was pretty surprise by the friendly service. The host who seated us was really nice and professional. Our server was attentive and never kept us waiting. The food was exceptionally great. I tired a vegetarian option, it was fantastic. The atmosphere was not bad at all. I can see myself coming back here again.

Parking in the front of the restaurant was an easy find and we were seated quickly!
Service was very thorough and we received our appetizers and entrees fairly quickly especially since it was lunch hour. My guacamole wasn’t made table side but it was fresh and had a kick which I liked, my shrimp were fresh and seasoned well.

My buddy held his nephew’s 15th b-day party here. We sat out on the back deck and were well taken care of. Taco Tuesday, and most everyone got a plate of tacos. The food was really good, with nice portions. They held the cake for us and brought it out when we were ready. They did the giant sombrero and sang Happy Birthday. The staff were great. Would highly recommend.

Our first time at the restaurant. I ate the chips without issue, but I can’t vouch for them not being fried without gluten cross contamination. As we were being seated, the chips and salsa were placed at the table, I’m unsure what the white sauce was. The salsa was pretty good, chips tasted fresh as well. My wife got the #12 dinner, enchilada, chili relleno and chalupa. She enjoyed it, said it tasted like the ones she grew up with in Texas. She will be back again. The meal came out very quickly.

Love El Caporal. Always great food, service, and atmosphere. Cant go wrong with Tres Amigos, burrito El Jefe, Arroz Con Pollo, or create your own bowl. Salsa does have a little spice to it, but delicious.

I’ve been coming to this exact spot since I was 15…. I’m now 40. I have to say I’m disappointed. Service use to be beyond amazing, and the food use to be the best in town. Now you wait forever for your food that doesn’t taste that great, and the service is just not what it used to be. I order my food now with my drinks so I don’t have to wait an hour for my food. The one time I did this my food came before my drinks. Which it wasn’t because the food was cooked that fast – it was because my server forgot my drinks. The manager offered my drinks for free for the inconvenience. When I got the tab the server said she discounted the meal. Well the meals and drinks were still on the tab. Honestly it felt like she was mad that I requested a manager after having my food, no drinks, no silverware for 10mins. What else should I do – watch my food get cold that tasted reheated anyways. Pitiful.
