Our family owned and operated restaurant uses fresh ingredients and family recipes to bring delectable and authentic Mexican cuisine to all of our locations in Idaho. All of our dishes are made from scratch, and we’ve served countless happy customers since we first opened our doors in 2012.

We had a late family get-together on a Sunday night with some guests visiting from out of state. I was pleased to see that El Caporal was open past 7 o’clock whereas some of our other choices had closed up for the night.
We had a reasonable wait time for our food and the prices were great. Our waitress was sweet and friendly and she looked after our dining needs expertly.
The dining room was not crowded at this hour and it was clean and inviting. The atmosphere seemed cozy and relaxing. I enjoyed the shrimp enchilada and I highly recommend it.

I liked the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. My steak fajita came out hot and tasted great. They gave me a little desert after my meal and chips with what tasted like homemade salsa before my meal all free of charge.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for more authentic Mexican food in the area. It doesn’t top the places back at home in Tahoe, but it comes close.

I’ve been to all three El Caporal locations, and the one in Pocatello is by far the best! The restaurant was spotless, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Our server was amazing, she recommended a few dishes I hadn’t tried before, including the Molcajete Caporal, and it was absolutely delicious! The salsa is also amazing and definitely the best in poky. Easily my favorite El Caporal location!

Great service, great food, and fun atmosphere!!! I love everything on the “Mexican Favorites,” menu, especially the Sopitos. They serve complimentary hot, fresh chips with salsa and beans before your meal, and they’re delicious. They even serve a complimentary dessert afterwards. The prices are very fair and the portions are large.

we got food to go because we were wanting to go get back home. the front desk lady was very nice and very friendly. we aren’t from here and have never tried this place and we are very impressed. we got the spicy pork tacos and the chilli verde burrito and it was all so amazing! highly recommend this place!
