Stumbled across a Mexican restaurant I had saved at some point previously on my GPS.
Stopped here today as they had truck parking out back and was curious to checkout this place as it was on hwy 75 that I rarely take coming back from Texas on my way to Canada .
I like usual thumped through the menu and back tracked and ordered my favorite mixed fajitas. 3 proteins, chicken , steak and shrimp . I also ordered some grilled jalapenos which I had them cut length wise.
Order started like usual with a coke no ice followed up with chips and salsa.
I was pleasantly surprised once I heard the sizzling skillet heading my way. Let’s just say this place kicked it up a few notches.
1. Excellent visuals / plating
2. Quality of ingredients
Better cuts of meats and larger shrimps used.
3. Quantity: generous portions of everything.
4. Exceptional cooking, nothing under or over cooked.
5. Exceptional service and a great sense of humor from my server.
6.Great decor, beautiful booths and carpentry details.
I really enjoyed the whole experience and the server even brought me out some salsa verde which I used in my meal and as a second dip for my chips.
I am going to make it my mission to stop here the next couple trips to try a few more thing off the menu.
I highly recommend my fellow truckers heading down the center of the continent you make a detour down US 75 to check this place out near Sabetha Kansas.
The menu is quite expansive for a regular sized restaurant. I don’t mean that in a bad way, they really have a LOT of different options. I chose shrimp in my selections and was not disappointed in the slightest. The first night I got the ‘Burrito Canelo’ (no picture, sometimes I’m too hungry and forget) and the second visit the ‘Fajitas Canelo’ (pictured).
Definitely worth a stop and eat on your way South or North on Highway 75!
A great gem of a find if you are not. They were attentive and accommodating for our special diets. The steaks are cut thin, pan fried and plentiful. We were passing through but glad we stopped.
