Been here 2 times in 2 days, yes it was that good the 1st time we chose to see if they could repeat… and they DID! Salsa an chip were fresh and tasty, dinners both days were excellent, hot, flavorful and filling, most would need a box to take home with leftovers… very plentiful servings! I recommend the fiesta and fire burrito dinners! They may be new on the menu but they come full of old world flavor. Sooooo good!

The wife and I went to this family style restaurant for some “authentic Mexican” food…
Ordering a chili Reno enchilada, and Chalupa combo, I definitely got the three items, but they were not authentic style Mexican food. The Jewelry Riano was chopped and it looked more of like a porridge poured onto the plate. I couldn’t tell you if I was eating the egg that the chili was supposed to be dipped in or something else but the flavor was amazing. Just not chili Reno flavor. As for the Chalupa and the enchilada, I don’t really know what those were that I was served, but they were not chili Rhyno or a Chalupa and the flavor was so so I did not finish my meal and left it on the table. I think it depends on what you order at this restaurant if it’s going to be good or not. But if you’re looking for authentic, this is not authentic the chips and salsa. We’re OK. The salsa that was too spicy for the wife. I didn’t want to do them an injustice by posting pictures of the food.

The food here was amazing. Staff was fast and friendly. Strawberry lemonade is amazing. I ordered the fajitas with shrimp steak and chicken. My significant other got the same thing, and my son got 3 beef tacos. We also got a curizo dip as an appetizer. Everything came out hot and fresh. Would highly recommend this location. You won’t be let down with the service or the quality of the food!

This mexican restaurant we arrived about 45 minutes before closing. We got right in and ordered our appetizer and food. The bean dip was very good. Wife and I split nachos. The portion was huge and the shrimp might have been some of the best I have had at any Mexican place. The service was ok. Our waiter disappeared several times for long periods so I had to flag another down for drink refills. Atmosphere was a typical Mexican restaurant and it has a nice bar area. Would eat here again

This place is my absolute favorite. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager, and every single time the food is good and the service is even better. Every staff member is always so kind and sweet.

Update;
I’m back in town and the food & service is just as I remember.
They have a new item on the menu, Fajita Burrito, which I ordered. It’s amazing. I had to take some home and I will probably get two more meals out of it.

One of the reasons I want to move back to Wooster. When I crave Mexican food, this is my go-to place. I often fill up on chips and salsa, or the chorizo and queso. And then take half my meal home
Everything is delicious!

My wife visited El Campesino constantly when she was a college student, so we had to go in for a visit while in town! It was exactly what I was hoping for: good tex-mex good at reasonable prices. The staff was very attentive, and made sure our drinks were always full. Overall I would highly recommend this place for a simple lunch or dinner while in town.
