Update: 05/24/2025: Tonight the food was amazing as always, but the fresh homemade corn chips stole the show. The chips were hands done the best and freshest corn chips I have ever had. We ordered our usual dishes and they were spot on as well. The food here was amazing!!! The owner does all the cooking, and you can tell he is passionate about cooking. Everything was cooked perfect. The staff was friendly and table service was very good. The Guacamole was excellent. Sorry we ate it all before taking a photo. Definitely give this place a try. A hidden gem in Reinbeck, Iowa. If you don’t try this place, you are missing out!!!

Who would thought such a great mexican restaurant would be in a small town!? Of course most small town places tend to have really good food *hidden gems*. Thats just what El Camino’s is = a hidden gem! Their molcahete is the bomb = better than any other place we’ve been! I love their bean dip.that they bring out with their chips! Will return time and again!

Contrary to the opinions of Cedar Falls food group, El Camino is fantastic. Often ordering enchiladas several times a week, the portion sizes are massive.. think more than twice the size of Carlos o Kelly’s but 30% cheaper or more!

The owners are amazing and it shows through the food and dedication to their restaurant. Such a great place and amazing addition to a wonderful town. Just know, If it’s 30ish minutes away from you, it’s worth your time. You will get your fill and leave happy and also very full.

Everything was great. The food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. The service was fantastic. The poor girl was by herself and managed, a really large party, several other tables and us 5. She was great! The only thing we didn’t care for was there was a large party of people in the back where the bathrooms were. It made it a little difficult to get to them and a little uncomfortable using them with a toddler in tow, knowing someone was sitting a foot outside the doors. It was probably just as uncomfortable for them, too. They were limited in space and totally understandable.
