This is one of my favorite places in Tulum. They always treat me with kindness, the fish is always fresh and the atmosphere is simple, local Mexican food. Only cash make sure you remember – there is an ATM next door but it’s national and doesn’t always work. The fried fish is my absolute favorite and they are known for their ceviche. If you love fish and simple atmosphere stop by to grab. Also, right next door they sell you fresh fish fried or uncooked to bring home it’s awesome when you don’t want to cook and great prices.

It’s a local restaurant with good food. We went twice. The ceviche mixto (shrimp and octopus)was my favorite, the portions are very generous. We got a whole fried fish and tacos too. If you want good food and don’t want to spend too much this is the place! I really recommend it!

I just moved to Tulum, from Los Angeles a month ago. A friend of mine here turned me on to Kamilo Junior. It is absolutely the best fish I have ever eaten in my life. The Ruvia Was absolutely fantastic, the service was great. The atmosphere and the people were awesome.

El Camello Jr. is a must every time we’re in Tulum. The seafood is always fresh and flavorful, and my wife swears by their fried fish — crispy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. It’s a laid-back spot with great prices, generous portions, and fast, friendly service. Easy to find and well worth the visit, this place never disappoints. A true local gem!

Excellent seafood and fast service. Definitely get the mixed ceviche, and grilled octopus and shrimp. The drinks are great as well.

Amazing food experience. Highly recommend the Ceviche, Filet de Pescado en Salsa Camello and the Shrimp in Garlic. So good you don’t want your meal to end. Portions are great and we came back a second time and will likely go again before leaving Tulum! Paid around 250-280 Pesos per meal plus drinks (160 for cocktails).

The food was good, not great. Guacamole was excellent, ceviche was good but not the best I’ve had, nachos where so so. Service was good. Surprisingly the mango margarita wasn’t any good. Definitely felt more like a local spot, not touristy at all.

We heard El Camello Jr. recommended over and over—especially for the ceviche—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The fish was super fresh, the portions generous, and the flavor spot on.
It’s a place that feels authentic, which is refreshing in a town like Tulum where so much feels overly curated. Great value for money and friendly, efficient service made it one of our favorite stops in Tulum.
