Incredible dinner served by a wonderful and charming older woman. The food is worth the wait. Life is short, why the rush?

A little corner of France in San Bernardino. The owner and head chef is a delightful lady who lived both in France and Portugal and offers traditional dishes from both countries. She will be happy to welcome you in Spanish, Portuguese, French and even English. The best dishes should be ordered at least 24 to 48 hours in advance, as they are prepared with fresh speciality ingredients, that come to the restaurant only if they have been specifically requested. The “normal” menu is still very varied and rich with lots of dishes that are very hard to find in other restaurants in Paraguay. Definitely worth the trip to San Bernardino if you want to experience traditional French dishes and tastes (and taste the difference between a proper croissant and a local medialuna). Recommended!

Not impressed. 25.000 omelette for only 2 eggs without filling. If you.want filling, cost about 5000 each items and mine has no flavour, i guess grandma chef forget to add salt? Look at the photo i.guess you.wont have too much appetite. And my black coffee grande 18.000 only 60% full . Forget to mention they.will charge you 5000 per person for a small portion of sppetizer . We refused to pay as we didnt order it.

We waited forever just to be recognized after we sat down. The drinks took another 20 minutes to arrive at the table in an empty restaurant. We assumed since we waited almost an hour for two sandwiches that the food must be unbelievable because we could not comprehend how they were still in business. This was not the case. Two terrible sandwiches. Thank god we did not order something complicated.
The old woman owner came to our table to explain that she was the only one cooking because the original chef had left, she didn’t have the money to hire a new chef and the she refused to hire a Paraguayan chef(insulting as my wife and her customers are mostly Paraguayan!!). This was one of the most bizarre restaurants experiences I have ever had and the only way that I can imagine that they are in business is that the locals feel sorry for her and go there as charity. No way to run a business though. Dine there at your own risk!!

Did not match the expectations… Price/quality ratio is quite bad to be honest. I ordered a medium steak and got an almost raw steak for almost 100K guaraníes. Overall, would not recommend.

Authentic French food. It seems as the place is more a hobby than a business, which is fine as the food you get is quite good. Aside from the creme brûlée all top notch. Grilled sugar is not the same as blow torched. Steak was succulent, sauce acceptable. Well worth a visit.

It was a lovely experience eating in the little courtyard, authentic french food and great service. Felt like eating at a French grandma’s house.
