I love trying little “hole in the wall” type of spots with amazing food and El Cabrito definitely fit that description for New. Lunch time on a Friday and we walk in and it was completely empty to the point where we were second guessing if we made the right decision on stopping in and trying it. So glad we did. The chips V and salsa were great, the rib eye tacos special hit the spot, but the mole was especially good. Small menu but can’t wait to come back and try the rest.

Another great find from Kenji Lopez-Alt’s “must eat” list! This tiny Oaxacan restaurant has been around for a while and they have been nominated best Mexican food award in the area multiple times. The parking lot is free in the back, you can enter the restaurant from the back as well. They have a few tables inside and a few tables outside. Classic tlayuda was a perfection – crispy tortilla covered in creamy refried beans, topped with a perfect amount of Oaxacan cheese, avocado and tomatoes. Not to forget perfectly cooked thin steak that melted in my mouth! I could only handle half of it in one seating, enjoyed my leftovers microwaved, and it was just as good.
Check out the specials! I didn’t have a chance to get any, but everything looked and sounded delicious!

Best authentic Oaxacan food in South Seattle. Good for takeout but the cozy, clean dining room is homey and enjoyable too. Wonderful to hear the staff chatting and laughing in the kitchen; makes you feel like everyone really enjoys making and serving good food.

We really enjoyed the shrimp dinner special and the salad with chicken. The atmosphere was very casual and festive! Clean eatery. Easy to miss it from the outside. Small, cozy spot. Will come again.

I had a great experience visiting El Cabrito for the first time! I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area and can be particular about Mexican food, and El Cabrito knocked it out of the park! Everything was made to order, and I was able to order entirely in Spanish (one of my measures of taquerias).
Service was excellent, the food was and felt authentic, and they accept all payment methods (including Apple Pay!). I’ll definitely be back sometime soon and have likely found my new go-to Mexican spot for the Seattle area.

The best Mexican food I’ve had in Seattle! My friend and I ordered the mole Enchiladas and Ribeye Tacos. The staff was super sweet and gave us flan for dessert. Will definitely be back 🙂

El Cabrito has amazing food. One of the best moles I’ve had since my grandmas. I would highly recommend eating there. Only downside is if you’re seeking a table it is very limited. Much easier eating solo there. They have stools lined up along window view. I will be back again very soon.

El Cabrito is a must-visit restaurant for Mexican food lovers! I recently had the Green Chicken Enchiladas and Tacos, and the experience was fantastic.
The Green Chicken Enchiladas were a flavor explosion. The tender chicken combined perfectly with the tangy tomatillo sauce, and the cheese added a comforting touch. The rice and beans on the side completed the meal wonderfully.
The Tacos were equally delightful. The carne asada was juicy and well-seasoned, and the grilled vegetable option was a refreshing twist. Topped with cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime, they were simply delicious.
The restaurant’s ambiance was welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Overall, El Cabrito delivered a delightful culinary fiesta, and I can’t wait to go back!

Tried this place for the 1st time. So impressed with the food, the flavors, and the service! We would give a rating of 15 out of 10. Will definitely be back!
We got the ribs with morita sauce and a bean, cheese and rice burrito. Even just the bean burrito was so full of flavor and so delicious!

Randomly stopped by here yesterday for lunch and it was not only the most aesthetically pleasing cutest restaurant I’ve seen lately but the food was absolutely amazing, we ordered the 4 tacos and split them it was carne asada and carnitas and both were so juicy and made fresh the meat is the star of the show as it was so perfectly done I haven’t had such juicy carnitas in a while and same goes for the carne asada also the decor and tribute to where they’re from Oaxaca, Mexico shines brightly in the restaurant and there’s even art you can buy that will support artist from there. The service was also immaculate as they checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back soon and making this our lunch spot.
