The wraps here are packed with flavor and super fresh. The carne asada was juicy, and the portions were solid for the price. The staff was friendly, but service was a bit slow during rush hour. The place itself is pretty small, more of a grab-and-go spot than a sit-down restaurant. Definitely a great option for a quick and tasty meal if you’re craving something hearty and satisfying

I just had the most smackin quesadilla from this place. I usually get their soups since they are so fire, like best on the island good, but I was craving a standard staple, the warm and comforting quesadilla, after my unhinged sprint swim workout. I was hungry and I am now so satisfied.

They are hella nice in there too. There’s enough room to eat in there or outside if you’re on the go or chillin with someone. The quesadilla was not lacking on the cheese at ALL. It was stuffed actually and it comes with guac, salsa Fresca, sour cream (which the quesadilla is a vehicle for), chips, red & green hot sauce. I’m just so happy and in post-housing that thang dopamine heaven rn so I had to give El Cabillo Wraps their flowers. OH and the watermelon Agua fresca was my lil sweet treat and SO refreshing to sip in the sun while walking home.

Gotta remember this place is walkable from my spot and patronize it more. It’s kind of a hidden gem since there are more well known spots on Park st. Hit this place up when you’re hungry and kicking it between park and Webster. Sorry no photo I have a one track mind after swim team and before food.

Food:
Having visited twice, I found the food here to be a mixed experience. On my first visit, I tried the street tacos – carne asada and al pastor – accompanied by a generous bag of chips. The chips were a highlight, fresh and crispy, complemented by two salsas: a mild salsa verde and a spicier salsa roja, both served in convenient squeeze bottles. The street tacos, priced at $3.50 each, felt somewhat pricey given their small size. The carne asada was decent, while the al pastor, though generously sauced, was overly salty.

My second visit was for the Baja-style fish tacos, which, at around $19-$20 for two, were notably expensive. The tacos came with guacamole, garlic aioli, and pico de gallo. Unfortunately, the pico de gallo and guacamole didn’t seem freshly made, impacting their quality. The fish itself was crispy and plentiful, but the overall experience didn’t justify the high price.

Service:
The service here is straightforward and efficient. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. There’s nothing particularly special or noteworthy about the service, but it gets the job done.

Ambiance:
The ambiance is typical of a casual, hole-in-the-wall taqueria. There are some seats inside with paper towels on the tables and additional seating outside, which is convenient for those with pets. It’s not a place you’d go for a fancy dining experience, but it serves its purpose well for a quick, casual meal.

Overall:
Overall, this taqueria is just okay. It’s not a place I’d highly recommend, but it’s a decent option if you’re in the area and craving tacos. The prices are more reasonable compared to other nearby Mexican restaurants, though some items can still feel overpriced for the quality offered. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a possibly better experience, you might consider other options, but for a quick taco fix without venturing too far, this spot might be your best bet.

Friendly small spot. Such nice service. I like their tacos and salsa. They usually give us a little sample of their soups and they’re soooo good. Everything tastes fresh. My bf’s favorite breakfast burrito!

Hella salty. I got a $15 veggie burrito which was 80-90% refried beans with a spoonful of rice and maybe a pinch of corn relish that was quite literally all at one end of the burrito. The experience was like paying San Francisco prices for a Midwest burrito in Alameda.

My son has an al pastor burrito and unless he held it perfectly vertical, it kept spilling all over the place because it was both dry and chopped up to the consistency of cat kibble.

Just another reminder that if you want a burrito in the Bay Area, don’t leave Oakland or at least make the trip to SF.

Came here for a takeout on Friday night. I put in my order at the counter and waited at the outdoor tables right in front for 5 minutes. One of the staff came outside and brought out my order! The two Agua Fresca — watermelon and cantaloupe — were made with fresh melons. So refreshing and delicious. The Carnitas Plato was made with fresh ingredients. The beans were cooked perfectly and the marinated braised pork was tendered and meaty. The tortillas were warm. The food here tastes really good. I’m going to try other dishes on their huge menu in the future for sure.

Wonderfully nice folks, fresh good food made to order, and quick service to boot. I like that they have lengua as well as al pastor on the menu. Horchata isn’t cloyingly sweet and their house made salsas have a lot of character to them, not just heat. Big portion size, but the food never leaves me with indigestion or heartburn like a few of the other Alameda Mexi restos because its not heavy/greasy.

Second time I came to pick up lunch. First time I came for lunch, I tried the Green Chile plate which was fantastic. Good amount of Pork and Potatoes in a really tasty Green Chile and Tomatillo sauce. Beans tasted fresh, and the rice was good. Today I tried the Chicken Flautas with Tomatillo Sauce and Refried beans. All fantastic and well done. Very traditional, not “white washed”. One of the better places I have had Mexican food in the Bay Area. Absolutely worth a try!

Lovely and friendly people in here but the food was disappointing unfortunately.
Meat lacks flavor and seasoning, same goes to rice and beans. I guess you try and learn 🙂
