They are hella nice in there too. There’s enough room to eat in there or outside if you’re on the go or chillin with someone. The quesadilla was not lacking on the cheese at ALL. It was stuffed actually and it comes with guac, salsa Fresca, sour cream (which the quesadilla is a vehicle for), chips, red & green hot sauce. I’m just so happy and in post-housing that thang dopamine heaven rn so I had to give El Cabillo Wraps their flowers. OH and the watermelon Agua fresca was my lil sweet treat and SO refreshing to sip in the sun while walking home.
Gotta remember this place is walkable from my spot and patronize it more. It’s kind of a hidden gem since there are more well known spots on Park st. Hit this place up when you’re hungry and kicking it between park and Webster. Sorry no photo I have a one track mind after swim team and before food.
Having visited twice, I found the food here to be a mixed experience. On my first visit, I tried the street tacos – carne asada and al pastor – accompanied by a generous bag of chips. The chips were a highlight, fresh and crispy, complemented by two salsas: a mild salsa verde and a spicier salsa roja, both served in convenient squeeze bottles. The street tacos, priced at $3.50 each, felt somewhat pricey given their small size. The carne asada was decent, while the al pastor, though generously sauced, was overly salty.
My second visit was for the Baja-style fish tacos, which, at around $19-$20 for two, were notably expensive. The tacos came with guacamole, garlic aioli, and pico de gallo. Unfortunately, the pico de gallo and guacamole didn’t seem freshly made, impacting their quality. The fish itself was crispy and plentiful, but the overall experience didn’t justify the high price.
Service:
The service here is straightforward and efficient. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. There’s nothing particularly special or noteworthy about the service, but it gets the job done.
Ambiance:
The ambiance is typical of a casual, hole-in-the-wall taqueria. There are some seats inside with paper towels on the tables and additional seating outside, which is convenient for those with pets. It’s not a place you’d go for a fancy dining experience, but it serves its purpose well for a quick, casual meal.
Overall:
Overall, this taqueria is just okay. It’s not a place I’d highly recommend, but it’s a decent option if you’re in the area and craving tacos. The prices are more reasonable compared to other nearby Mexican restaurants, though some items can still feel overpriced for the quality offered. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a possibly better experience, you might consider other options, but for a quick taco fix without venturing too far, this spot might be your best bet.
My son has an al pastor burrito and unless he held it perfectly vertical, it kept spilling all over the place because it was both dry and chopped up to the consistency of cat kibble.
Just another reminder that if you want a burrito in the Bay Area, don’t leave Oakland or at least make the trip to SF.
OMG, the green Chile Chicken enchilada soup is so delicious I could eat it for lunch Everyday!
The tortilla soup is also sensational.
I will be going back here again. And again. And again. I love their food! They have Migas for breakfast
Meat lacks flavor and seasoning, same goes to rice and beans. I guess you try and learn 🙂
