The food was okay but it doesn’t make up for paying $87 for 4 people for Mexican food at a little restaurant. We started by telling her we were visiting from out of town and ordered 7 Gorditas which on the menu were $5 each and a chicken soup with 4 drinks.
We took the soup to go and asked for our check.
We saw the check and were surprised, we were thinking it was a mistake so we asked for all the different charges and she said tip was included which is fine, then we asked why the Gorditas were $7 and she said because it was $2 extra for the meat!!!
We didn’t see that anywhere on the menu and ended up just paying but felt extremely frustrated that she saw the opportunity to take advantage of tourist and did.
She also said she charged $5 for paying with a credit card so we were forced to pay cash. If the food had a different price then the one on the menu we should have been told, to give us the chance to decide ahead of time. Instead we ordered a bunch of food we didn’t even eat and were overcharged, definitely not coming back here.
Update: we live hundreds of miles away, but this reviews response was finally seen by the restaurant, it only took 4 years for them to respond. I am unfortunately not able to change my opinion, we were taken advantage of on a day I was sick( which is why we went there for their soup)
fast forward to 12/2025 and obviously things are much more expensive but still the food we ate there was not worth $90, please do not force someone to tip you for fast food, treat them kindly and people will tip you for your great service. I’m very savvy when it comes to travel, I read the fine print, hopefully you now have a sign that clearly states the price differences for the different meats but on the day we visited that was not available.
Best wishes to you as I see you are trying to make things right for your customers.
