My favorite spot to order a quick meal before my evening shifts. I always order through uber or DoorDash while I’m still on the bus. Its always ready by the time I get there and I eat it outside of my work place because it’s currently take out only. Their beans are amazing! Everything tastes so homemade! The beans are by far the best most authentic Mexican style beans I’ve had in Hawaii and the cheese they use is so yummy . The beans really make all the difference. My favorites are the bean and cheese burrito or course and the steak burrito which also has beans and cheese. The chile verde pork is amazing too! All come with a side of guacamole, salsa, and lettuce. I love how simple, but tasty it all is. Super abuelita’s house style food. Nothing fancy, no fusion, no elevated bs, and no ingredients I can’t spell. Also I love seeing auntie’s smiling face who is usually working up front. I can feel good energy radiating from her. Love this spot. I’m so happy I have a part time job nearby so I have an excuse to eat there!

A word of warning to all who consider coming here. El Burrito has NO inside dining and there are precious few places to sit outside the restaurant. The woman who was taking our orders left a few things out of our orders after assuring us they were included. Guacamole and lettuce was borderline old and semi browned.

Absolutely amazing food!! My go to is the chicken burrito. Also I received some of the best and speediest service a customer could ask for. The lady who was working was phenomenal. Great place to eat I highly recommend this place! Best Mexican food in downtown.

Very authentic! It’s not your typical Mexican restaurant. If you ever had Mexica food in Mexico then you gonna love this place. It’s all about the beans. It would be difficult to order because the menu has all kinds of choices.

I’ve driven by this Mexican restaurant for over 30 years, and I finally stopped in — I’m so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with love. The people were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Prices were very fair for the quality and portions. After just one visit, I can confidently say I’ll be back. A hidden gem that’s well worth the stop!

The food was very flavorful and filling. I had the taquitos and my husband had the chicken mole. We didn’t realize it was take out only! The restaurant itself was so hot so we waited in the car in the a/c. The owner was so kind though. Definitely recommend call ahead for to-go.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews. That being said the staff was AWESOME much aloha. BUT….. don’t believe the pictures my burrito was tiny and sad having almost no flavor and half the meat I had to spit out because it was FULL of gristle
$10.50 for a $3 burrito I was SOOOOO disappointed.
The burrito in the pic is tiny and still not even full.
Sorry guys but if you want to stay in business you better step it up ALOT $10 better be a burrito that fills the whole container or at least more than half.

Far better service than most restaurants! A small “hole in the wall” with authentic Mexican food. Definitely worth checking out.

10/10 – my new go to Mexican restaurant on the island. Everything is home cooked and delicious. The refried beans were my favorite and had such a nice Smokey flavor. They have generous portions with great prices. Thank you to the lovely aunty who runs the place, and literally does it all: answer the phone, make the food, and pack it up.
