Reviews
My wife and I have lived in town for almost three years, and somehow this wonderful establishment went under our radar. Tonight we dropped in for takeout, and it was the right decision.
The moment we came in we were greeted by a very kind and warm woman who I assume is the owner, and she gives THE BEST service.
As we waited for our food the atmosphere was alive, something lacking in most of our restaurants.
When we got to the car we honestly wished we had stayed to eat there, we will definitely be dining in next time.
The food was great and the portions were healthy. Sometimes you can just tell the person cooking the food has a passion, and it showed.
This restaurant takes Covid very seriously.
I felt clean and safe with plenty of safe distancing.
I was disappointed with a few details here and there, such as old rice served as “fresh” and salsa bottles when asked for some salsa. Among others things, service was moderate. Staff was friendly as other reviews say, however, they at times miss a few details or serve them late. For example, if your dish comes with tortillas, they’d be delayed despite patron traffic. Or, carne asada is mostly limited to “well-done.”
I believe that El Buen Gusto can do much better. Staff is certainly improving, near the end of a patron’s meal, staff seemed more energetic, but room for improvement should always be welcomed.
Overall, Prosser’s standards for Mexican food is underwhelming, but, I’m hoping within the next years, we raise the standards higher on Mexican food. More than just saying “hola” and learning how to say “tortillas” or saying “gra-ci-as” in a beginners accent. Let’s do better Prosser ❤️
