I visited this place last weekend and was immediately impressed by the warm, attentive service from the staff. I ordered a meat dish that completely won me over! the flavors were bold and authentic, the meat was incredibly tender, and it was cooked to perfection. It’s the kind of meal that reminds you why you seek out authentic cuisine in the first place. I’ll absolutely be coming back and would highly recommend this dish to anyone visiting for the first time.

This place has delicious food and friendly kind service. Lots of fresh nice food for the price, the pupusas are enormous and wonderfully crispy and brown due to the large amount of cheesy filling. Really good salsa too, a mild and hot version. They bake their own bread! It smells sooo good. Also they bake treats! I got a Semita, which is crumbly crispy cookie-like pastry layers with lovely jam in the middle. They have breakfast too, and a lot of homestyle dishes available for takeout. Great addition to the neighborhood

Amazing hidden El Salvadoran gem in Tacoma!! The family who runs this place is so welcoming and eager to share the food from their home country. The food was incredible, but really the highlight is the kind, talented hospitable family who puts their heart and soul into everything they sell. If you get lucky, you might even hear the owner sing a song!
The pupusas were AMAZING! Not greasy like other ones I’ve tried. Couldn’t decide which ones to get, so I tried all of them. Each one was delicious!
Also tried the iced hibiscus and tamarind drinks, perfect on a hot day.
Pastry selection were seriously impressive and the cakes looked very professional! I’ll be back every time I’m in Tacoma.

The pupusa was flat, but had an ok flavor. Queso Loroco wasn’t what I ordered, but got. It isn’t something I’d order again as it essentially tasted like a tortilla with cheese in it and a mild indistinguishable vegetable. I will come back to try the pastries and fries as I want to support local, but I do need to be honest about the experience. The rest of the next looks great though. Just need more pictures to help these folks out with what is best on their menu.

I normally don’t write reviews but I felt like I needed to get the word out about this little gem. It was my family’s first time trying this place. Not busy on a Wednesday afternoon but definitely should be. We had the pupusas/ yuca frita with chicharon. I would say the best pupusas I’ve had since I’ve been living in Washington. Everything was delicious & the family that runs the place is very kind. Will definitely be back!

Cute place to stop for a bite, and quick too. THE BEST PART THOUGH. The Pupusa’s! Husband says they taste and look like they come from Home(: he felt like he was back home. As for me I found them delicious cheesy and filling. Glad we stopped in will continue to come in(:

This place is a treat. We were the only people there on a Saturday evening for dinner and had exceptional service. Everyone was warm and kind and they have beautiful smiles. It felt like we’d been welcomed into their home, not their restaurant.
Everyone enjoyed their food – pupusas and the breakfast plate! The pastries and donuts looked amazing, but we were happily stuffed. Everything was clearly prepared right them. We took a couple of tortillas home and somehow there were still warm (and delicious the next day, though no longer warm).
The teen in our group had never had a pupusa before and declared them her new favorite food.

If you’re looking for delicious and authentic Salvadoran food, El Boquerón is a must-visit! Their yuca & chicharrón plate is crispy and flavorful, and the rice pupusas are incredible—especially the cheese & beans and loroco & cheese varieties. Everything tastes homemade and fresh!
I also loved their semita bread, which was the perfect sweet treat, and the atol de elote, which was warm and comforting.
The owner takes pride in keeping the place super clean, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming.
Highly recommend!
