Review for El Bohio Restaurant
I spent $57 on two platters and ordered close to closing time. I called ahead, and the woman on the phone was very respectful and helpful. When I arrived, the food was already prepared, which I appreciated.
However, when I got home, I was really disappointed with the portions. There was very little rice and only a small amount of meat placed in the corner of the container. What made it more frustrating is that when I was inside the restaurant picking up my order, I noticed there was still plenty of food left, even though they were closing.
I’m not being greedy — I’m just being fair. For the price paid, the portions should have been more reasonable, especially knowing food was still available. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because the service on the phone was good, but the portion sizes did not match the cost.

I want to take a moment to recommend El Bohío Restaurant in Pleasantville to everyone, regardless of culture or race, because their service is truly world-class. I just picked up a catering of yellow rice with pigeon peas and perni for 15 people, and I am blown away by the quantity and quality of the food! We served ourselves three plates each, and we still have food left. Amazing!
Let me tell you, I am more than satisfied. The presentation was impeccable; everything was packed in a hygienic and professional manner, which gave me great peace of mind.
The aroma and flavor of each bite was simply delicious, a true delight for the senses. The juicy and perfectly seasoned pernil, along with the yellow rice with pigeon peas that was cooked to perfection, made this meal an unforgettable experience. My guests are delighted and I am more than grateful!
If you are looking for a place where quality, taste and professionalism are the norm, El Bohío is the place to go. I will definitely be back, and I will not hesitate to recommend it to everyone.

Got got the chicken with rice.Must have been a thousand chicken bones the beef and cheese empanadas were cold and chewy. My friend got the steak and rice and beans and the steak is some cheap London broil chewy like bubble gum meat. And he got the steak and cheese empanadas.They were the same. If you want good food , go to Pepes in egg harbor city. I spent over $50.

We were referred to this place and boy oh boy we were NOT disappointed. We were greeted, and treated very nice while waiting on our food. The server and the cook came to our table to check how everything was and had a small conversation with us. I was craving a mofongo with garlic scampi and OH MY GAWD this was banging. The fried sweet bananas were just right. The potatoe ball & mondongo was delicious. My husband had yellow rice & steak and the steak was so tender he could cut it with a butter knife.

Sooooooo yummy I got the chicken and it was huge!!!! Juicy and tender. The yellow rice with peas is cooked to perfection. Plantains caramelized nice and soft. Don’t get me started on the Flan the flan was so buttery soft sweet, best flan I’ve ever had hands down!!!
