El Bistro by the Sea is a really nice restaurant with a modern, warm, and inviting atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the service was great — attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the meal.

I ordered the carnitas torta with spicy coleslaw and fries, and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were bold and delicious, and the spicy coleslaw paired perfectly with the carnitas. It was definitely a bit messy and ended up being a fork-and-knife situation, but it was 100% worth it.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great food and excellent service. I’d happily come back to try more of the menu. Yum!

Food was good and the staff were humble and courteous. Our french toast was dry so they were very apologetic and made a new one for us. We loved the skillet, outstanding flavors. Definitely recommend this place.

I got the Surf n Turf burrito with shrimp and Carnitas. It was so amazing! I loved the seasoning and it came with traditional salsa on the side that I really liked. The salsa was fairly spicy, but not too much heat. I couldn’t believe the size of the shrimp in the burrito. My wife got the Birria omelette and she loved it. The Birria meat was delicious and the omelette was quite large. My daughter got pancakes and she loved them.

Very good breakfast place and highly recommend this place, very big sized portions. We walked in and there was a very little weight. The staff was super kind very helpful in deciding what food to get. The restaurant looks very new and it was very clean. Now I’ve got a fancy pumpkin spice latte which came in an actual pumpkin, which was a fun flare to the drink. When did up getting half order of French toast because we didn’t want the full size. Can’t say good enough things about this place. Very good highly recommend.

Outstanding food. My wife ordered the creme bruele French Toast. It was thick and perfectly prepared. The creme bruele sauce was perfect. The fresh made whipped cream topping elevated the flavor to top-tier. Add strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and a small chunk of burnt sugar for presentation and you’ve got a breakfast dessert dish that earns a place on my personal Mt. Rushmore of breakfast. My wife was kind enough to share generously. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito (not on the menu). It was very good, but I could only eat half of it because it was full size and I kept eating the French toast off my wife’s plate. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful and filling. I highly recommend El Bistro by the Sea.

A little bit more on the expensive side but a fabulous breakfast and 100% worth it! Keep in mind also the portions are HUGE. The California burrito with chicken is phenomenal. I also got the del leche something latte and that was also fantastic. I recommend very highly

Went early afternoon and did not wait as long for a table inside. There is a text system for the waitlist and you are able to walk around nearby while your table is ready which is nice. Coffee was delicious , pictured is the abuelita iced coffee. You can have your omelette in a spinach or a regular tortilla and it pairs great with their salsas. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing Chilaquiles Habanero. It was reminiscent of chilaquiles we had in Mexico City. The atmosphere is quintessential Carmel. Cannot go wrong. Highly recommended.

This place was absolutely amazing. I would recommend 100 times over. The food was delicious and just perfect. There are so many options to choose from, and I’m glad they do the French toast in 1/2 orders because it’s so hard to choose. Service was great, and don’t forget to inquire about the secret menu, which you will find on their IG page, I believe. I can’t wait to go back as this is a must stop when visiting Carmel. This restaurant is surrounded by so many cute shops. Parking might be a little difficult. Just keep circling something will pop up, and trust me, it will be worth it. Great portion sizes, so it makes it easy to share when you order different items. I would recommend getting on the waitlist as well since this is a very busy place.
