We had a nice dinner in this Mexican Restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive. They are considerate of food intolerances and provide excellent advice.
The food was good. We had a great guacamole. The tacos el pastore were very tasty.
Very pleasant atmosphere and great Margaritas.

The flavors of the foods we ordered were fantastic. Hubby had the trout and I had chicken enchiladas with both sauses. We also had a bowl of black bean dip and salsa with chips. They do charge for the these but will refill the salsa and it is not expensive. As in even the entrees are nicely priced and large. My two enchiladas (the smaller size-as you can order large or small) was plenty. And the grilled vegetables were perfect! Our server was helpful and attentive. My entree could have been warmer but it tasted so good I didn’t want to send it back to reheat. Margaritas good too. Some tables are a bit too close together and those same ones under too bright lighting. It is next to an arcade so kids do come. Parking was not easy but we arrived at 5:30 and got lucky. Would go again for sure. We split dessert which was tres leche and that was too sweet for me. Did not need the added caramel.

Love this place! Food is excellent! I went three nights in a row. I tried three different dishes. All were excellent. Deserts were spectacular! Absolutely the best food I’ve had in any restaurant in years. Wait staff was super friendly and great at describing and recommending dishes. Great prices for such excellent food. Wish they had one in Atlanta!!! Superb!!!

My husband and I ate here on our way out of town for the weekend and we are still talking about our meal. It was the best meal we’ve had in a while and I would travel the hour+ to have it again.
I had the Pork Barbacoa (seasonal) and he had the Chili Rellenos. My entree was packed with flavor. I could go on and on about everything I loved about it – the balance of the acid, the freshness, the way it reminded you of a holiday meal without the heaviness or being too traditional – it was just so so good. Sweet potatoes toped slices of tender, perfectly seasoned pork, roasted Brussels, jicama, pecans, cotija, an au jus that had to have lime juice…y’all. It was. so. good.
My husband said that the chile rellenos were the best he ever had. Sorry – He’s a man of few words and I was too involved in my own dish to break his down.
Just go. I’m pretty sure you’d be hard pressed to find a bad dish here.

Homewood El Barrio has the same great menu and service as the 2nd Ave spot! The Homewood location even has parking, which is a huge plus. ️ You might still have to wait for a table, but trust me, the food is totally worth it. They have amazing vegetarian options like plantain nachos, jackfruit tacos, and chili relleno. ️ And definitely ask for their homemade salsa trio! ️ ️ ️
Don’t forget the Tiramisu with the twist.

After seeing the billboard and having an order brought in for lunch we decided to stop by. I got the beef quesadilla, charro beans and barrio corn bread my daughter got the chicken and rice soup. For dessert she got the pumpkin sopaipillas with cream cheese ice cream. Kevin was our server he was fantastic and very attentive we enjoyed him. The beans are great once you add the green salsa, the corn bread is a hard pass the quesadilla is great but needs all the trimmings like guacamole, sour cream, and pico. The kid enjoyed all her food with no complaints. One thing they need to bottle and sell is that salad dressing, it’s to die for. The environment that night was horrible because we sat next to children who were unsupervised due to their parents in the next section so it was very loud and uncomfortable. We’d return but maybe try the downtown location next time , hopefully Kevin floats over there❤️

These are the lunch sized portions! Came across this spot on a roadtrip and it was some of the most unique and delicious Mexican food I’ve had. Not pictured was the salsa (very fresh), queso and chips.
Great music and vibe; quick service.

1. Best salsa in town? 100%

2. Best bartender is town? Well, I’m not an alcoholic. So I’m not sure who the best is. But, Tina is definitely in the top three

3. Best mojito in town? Again, I’m not an alcoholic. But, it might be

4. Best desserts in town? Possibly. Taylor behind the bar makes all the desserts FROM SCRATCH. All the way down to the apple butter in the fall themed tres leches

5. Better parking than the downtown location? Is this a trick question?

6. Best goat cheese quesadilla? Absolutely

This was our first time dining at this new location. Though it was 1:30 pm, there was a good crowd at the restaurant. We didn’t have to wait to be seated, but the food took quite awhile to arrive.

My husband had the Chicken Escabeche and it was incredible! Our server recommended it and she was spot on. I had the Chopped Romaine Salad with added beef. It was good, but way too much food. Next time, I will do the smaller portion.

The chips and salsa are not complementary, but are way better than most other Mexican restaurants. You wouldn’t want to miss out on them.

Oh my gosh! This took Mexican cuisine to the next level. The atmosphere was beautiful, we were seated in the cove on the back where amazing artwork was displayed. The servers never let my water get below half in my cup, they were so polite. We had a little bit of everything and every bite from every item was mouth watering delicious! That meatloaf will probably be in my dreams! The seasonal guacamole was refreshing and flavorful, the potato taquitos were crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. Such a perfect mash up of soft and crispy. Best tres leches and soapapilla I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Plating was also done greatly. Can’t wait to come back for brunch one day!
