A hidden gem off of Buck Road. My Wife and I visited El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar with another couple and we were very impressed by the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant has a fun and colorful decor with a Day of the Dead theme. The menu offers a variety of dishes inspired by Mexican cuisine, such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and empanadas. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas to share. They also have a nice beer selection and a beer store attached to the place. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food and drinks.

I had high hopes for this place and was sadly let down. I want to start off by saying the chips and salsa were great. Besides that, the waitress was clearly miserable and didn’t mind showing it. I ordered an appetizer immediately which did not arrive until nearly 25 minutes later. It actually tasted ok but it was lukewarm, almost cold. Then to the next course. I ordered the Buffalo chicken tacos which were absolutely disgusting and had a weird tangy taste, also, cold. My guest ordered fajitas which had ZERO, I mean NO seasoning at all whatsoever. Save yourself the money and irritation- go somewhere else.

Great great great birria tacos best I’ve had thus far and I’ve had them from SOOOO many different places from north Philly to here and all over. I get mine with cucumbers on the side. Service is always exceptional. Place is beautiful with really nice people. I eat here alot.

We finally made it to El Barrio and we loved it. Unique takes on Mexican dishes that did not disappoint. Not only was the food very good but the service was top notch and the restaurant had a cool decor that we enjoyed.

The food wasn’t spectacular but overall very solid. The service was wonderful and the host couldn’t have been nicer. The bar was a lot of fun and wow, having a country music combo that is pretty well known made it icing on the cake. We will be back.

The food was less than impressive to say the least. The manager told us there was a new cook in the back and he was trying different recipes and to come back in a few weeks. He refunded all of the food that was not great and was very nice. The alcoholic beverages were great and the atmosphere was awesome. The steak fajitas steak was chewy and overcooked, the chicken in the flautas and burrito was pulled and sweet but not very good, it was missing a zing. The grilled chicken for the chicken fajita was delicious! The shrimp was awesome and the short rib was also tasty.

I was excited to try this place after reading a review, but to be honest it was a bit of a let down. I’ve had better. The selection and ideas were good, they just couldn’t execute in my opinion.

I can’t say with more enthusiasm how pleased we are with Dave Andrews, our server Destiny and the rest of staff at El Barrio. We just hosted a graduation party for our daughter and were delighted with how it all played out. Dave was easy to work with, responsive to my many questions, and reasonable when selecting options. Destiny was friendly to us and our guests, on top of our needs and a very hard worker. We were able to enjoy our party and it’s because we were well attended to. Thank you El Barrio!

Impressive beer selection both on tap and in the beer room. The food is good as well, the shrimp chorizo quesadilla is excellent. The beer selection definitely keeps me coming back though.
