Found this place by accident looking for another restaurant and so happy we stumbled upon it. Watermelon margarita was so good! My husband isn’t a fan of mexican food but loved theirs as it had so much flavor! 10/10 will make the drive right past the restaurants near me to visit this one.

So much food I could not eat it all! Really tasty food as well. They usually carry several different flavors of margaritas, just ask your server. We were waiting on quickly and our food came out quickly and it was piping hot.

Definitely not good. Always wanted to try this place and im disappointed. Over priced, meat was extremely watery and I got the juices from it all over my shirt every time I took a bite, salsa was very watery. Waiter wasnt friendly. Waitress was ok but not the waiter. Tortillas were extremely small. Definitely not the experience I thought it would be. Only good thing about this place is that the beer pitchers are huge! I definitely won’t ever come back here.

We tried the Pollo al Chipotle, a succulent chicken entrée served with chipotle cream sauce, rice, and salad. The rich smokiness of the sauce added a beautiful depth, perfectly complementing the tender grilled chicken .
We also went for the Burger & Taco Combo, which pairs your choice of burger (we opted for the classic Steak Burger) with two chicken tacos and a side of fries. It’s exactly the kind of comfort-food mashup that hits the spot .

El Barril is our go to place for Mexican food, and we drive from Hyde Park about once a month to enjoy sharing a Sunday lunch. The arroz con pollo, not sure how they season their chicken, but it is super tender. Add some grilled pineapple to turn it up a notch. Now, if they had the chips and creme salsa like Chuys, we would be there every week!

Hands down one of the best Mexicans restaurant around town! I highly recommend coming here food was amazing and so were the drinks, service was excellent!!! This is coming from someone who lived in California raised and born and it’s so hard to find good restaurants like this. We will definitely will be coming back.

This place is exactly what New Richmond needs! Friendly and prompt staff. The renovations this place went through look authentic and well done. Great atmosphere. No bar to sit at but alcohol is available (except for the last week of March). The reason I give it 4/5 stars is because the salsa they bring to the table reminds me of homemade spaghetti sauce. The chips are different than your “typical Mexican” restaurant- but it’s free so I’m grateful for a free appetizer!! The menu also has a full page for burgers and pizza so I think this place is great for a night out. Will be back!

Highly recommend. Friendly greeting when we walked in. The atmosphere is wonderful and decor is great. Quick service and nice professional staff. The food was excellent and great portions. Very reasonably priced.

We enjoyed our dinner so much! We asked the waiter which margarita was the most popular and he said the tropical, so we ordered a pitcher for the table. Little did we know the pitcher was going to be a generous practically a gallon worth of margarita, see for yourself in the pictures. I ordered tacos al carbon (3) and they were so filling my kids ordered a steak and al carbon nochos. We brought home some nachos so we can bake for lunch tomorrow. My husband ordered a steak fundido which he said was over cooked, but to be honest we did not ask if it could be cooked medium so it was just well done. Did I say the margaritas were good? Because they were☺️ The salsa and chips were complimentary, as they should be because that is true Mexican hospitality. Well done El Barril!
